Gypsy Wagon 14 - The Journey Continues
Ойын-сауық
Hello folks, a bit of a late start to 2023 but I'm back on the wagon! ..the Gypsy Wagon that is.
Major jobs, little jobs, it all adds up to inching closer to the end.
Hello to new subscribers, hope you enjoy the ride. Patches of time may pass between uploads, but stick with me, we'll get to the end eventually.
Stay well all,
Mark.

Basically much time spent thinking how to, then eventually the lightbulb appears above my head.
Awesome!... For many years now I've been wanting to try my hand at converting a American School bus into a modern day Vardo replica, Schoolie bus conversions are a big rage in the USA but the outside & insides are always post apocalyptic Frankenstein type creations that torture the eyes instead of a being a rolling work of Art.

Yes I've watched my fair share of US bus/motorhome conversions. A lot rarer here in OZ.
While I'm not quite sure what your dream log cabin might look like, I am absolutely 100% sure that it would be a magnificent work of art ! ! ! I'm a huge fan of your creations and I hope that maybe some day, all of us folks who tune in to your channel might get to see that cabin ? ? ? OH and b. t. w., I see that you're also a most accomplished and very talented Musician ! ? ! ? Yup, I could visualize an 'Air Baby Grand Piano' smack in the middle of that lovely little log cabin😂🤣😅‼

Hopefully one day I'll get to embark on my dream cabin, along with my overall homestead. Way back in my young teenage years, in the confines of my bedroom, I was an accomplished Air Musician. 🙂
Your screens are brilliant. And so is your ingenuity. I continue to be amazed. Impressive! I like that color of red too.
I love the progress. It's looking great! Awesome job with the screens, I wouldn't have thought of that.
Always looking forward to your next post. Still snow here so a month or so before work starts on mine.

Me too! I have to do all my diy with a jigsaw and a cordless drill (no where to keep stuff even though I built 2 sheds.)
Loved the way your screens went down into that pocket! Everything is looking great 👍
Hello mark, lovely to see you again, the wagon is looking really good, love the fly screens.the stove& sink looks stunning bet that stove will keep the wagon nice & warm in the winter. Looks like you still have quite a few jobs to go. Onwards & upwards as they say. Take care my friend.👍👍👍👍

Thanks Barry. Yep, still much to do.
What a great series; You have over-killed the build of course; as we tend to do when we are building something ourselves. I have followed this with interest because I build scale-model gypsy wagons. (yes! I'm an English Gypo living in Australia nowadays) You have done a terrific job and I love to see someone working with just everyday tools and using initiative to work around problems when they come up. Keep up the good work. I will certainly continue to watch your channel.

Thanks John. It's certainly been challenging at times, which makes it all the more enjoyable. I like the idea of the scale models and the detail that goes into them, they're just something that's cool to look at.
This is looking better and better as it comes together. I'm really impressed with the screens. I'm curious though...is there a reason why the sink and the stove weren't switched places? That way no worries about guests burning their butts. ;)

I did have them placed briefly in that switched position. But the kitchen cabinet protrudes out a bit further than the heater, so a tad less room again to get into that seat. Plus it just didn't look right in that placement.
Top jobs as usual. Is your wagon braked in situ; or will a decent wind cause it to start to roll? Cheers 👍🏻🙏🦘

All the wheels are very well chocked. And boy do we get the kind of winds here that would cause a runaway wagon.
love the screens on those windows from across the pond U.S.A.

Kinda spoils it with all those power tools

Yeah I'd love to be authentic and use hand tools all the time. I have used them all my life in my bread and butter trade. Unfortunately, it led to now having arthritis in my wrists and joints. So I have to choose common sense over romantic tradition. But thanks for watching anyway 🙂

Old age it comes to us all,I'm 63 and live in a transit Luton van that I've kind of done up like a gypsy caravan, hopefully when I retire I will get a real one pulled by a horse, thanks for the great tips yours looks beautiful.

@@steveffuksake It certainly does. It's the time honoured tradition of, "Welcome to the wrong side of 50, if an inexplicable ailment has not yet been thrust upon you, one (or more) will be afforded to you shortly". All the best with your goals 👍
