Most loud mouths are not good fighters. They try to intimidate. Most succeed and never have to fight, so their skill set is low. But whenever the one they try to intimidate fights back, the true lack of skill is presented in them. The ones to watch out for is the ones who have had to fight all their lives from being pushed around. Those are the ones who have honed their abilities.

I remember being a kid in the early 70s, and there were a few Chinese kids that were pretty timid and scared to speak up - a couple got bullied. I was friends with them and I remember how proud they became to be Chinese right after Bruce Lee got popular and it was suddenly "cool" to be an Asian, and after that, they got popular at school. I was so happy for them that they finally had a big "star" of their own in Hollywood, and he happened to be the best - ever. We watched Enter the Dragon like 50 times in a row. It was awesome back then...the 70s were the best.

@@Bear78420absolutely. It was a great time for some and bad for others. However, many of those that had to deal with racism were often pretty resilient in finding happiness away from the ignorant. The 70s was an interesting time in pop culture. When we’re living in those kind of times, it’s very interesting and memorable. It can also be life changing for some. Bruce Lee was a big influence in life changing moments for many people of many cultures. That alone speaks to a great period in time. The 70s definitely had many interesting and influential people help change time and pop culture for the better.

Things I like about this scene: 1) No music or "soundtrack." Yeah, some sound effects, but nothing over the top. 2) It shows that there's more to martial arts than the "right moves." The mental acuity required is quite substantial. Predicting your enemy's moves through "tells," knowing when to evade and when to strike, using your enemy's moves to your advantage...the clarity of mind is truly a force to be reckoned with. 3) You don't look for the fight....but if the fight finds you, you only fight until the threat is stopped. You don't humiliate or punish.

Completely underrated movie
This event never really happened but it was put in the film to demonstrate the type of racism Bruce faced in the U.S. The idiocy of it was the Bruce WAS a naturalized citizen. He was American because he was born in San Francisco but his parents moved to Hong Kong when he was a baby and that's where he grew up before coming back to the states. Bruce was as American as apple pie but all white people saw was some Chinese guy. One of the reasons that Bruce is so beloved was because he was willing to teach anyone, any race, any color. Like he once said, and I'm paraphrasing, we all are the same living under the same sky, but we just happen to look different.
