Taking steps back is sup-obtimal (since using legs in a non leg exercise is limiting factor) take the weight and immediately do the work for maximum gains.

really pisses me off when i have to walk around them while carrying heavy dumbbells, worse if they're directly in front of the dumbbells i want to pick up

@@jaywatts2079 bend your knee, kick the other leg back, place your elbow that’s not rowing, on your knee, and do your rows like that. No need to use the rack, in fact the rack, where people generally place their hand, is too high, and then your back is too upright anyways, where you’re not even targeting the correct muscles as effectively. This also avoids being inconsiderate to someone who might actually use those dusty dumbells

I'll add to this. Don't use the slot where I have to put my 90's back as a resting place for your 20's between the sets you're performing directly in front of the dumbbell rack.
And please for God's sake return the equipment 🤦🏻♂️
And also, put the weights/dumbbells back in its racks. You're coming to gym not only to be in shape but also to live a disciplined life.
Yes, also please don't place your mat and do your stretches or abs in front of the dumbbell rack either.

I'll do you one better; had a guy balancing on his knees on one of those giant exercise balls (NOT one of the ones with the flat bottom) while doing lateral raises. He was back a few feet from the dumbbell rack, but I was doing dumbbell flat bench right next to him wondering if he and the weights in his hands were going to fall on me at any second. Kinda hurt my focus.😅
Its still too close after the steps back. 😅
Couple of step back is considered as cardio, which cause you to lose gainz bruv

Yes, this! It soooo annoying. This happens a lot at my gym. And the people in front of the dumbells have the nerve to get an attitude when you're trying to put your weights back, and they're in the way. 😤
Even with the steps back it is preventing people from reaching the dumbbells from the rack

I don't ask them to move. I just grab the dumbbells and interrupt their set. It is their fault I interrupted their set if they are standing in front of the dumbbell rack.
My gym actually has specific place with mirror in front for people to do exercise their but still people choose the mirror in front of the rack also they do drop sets and supersets 😭
People that do this think they are the only ones at the gym. Just selfish...
No no no. I have to SEE the condensation on the mirror from my intense curls
So annoying when people treat it like their private gym.
Even worse are the guys who stand directly in front of you when they have all the room in the world.
You don't need to sit on the machine between sets. Looking at your phone is the chef's kiss.

This is just as bad as taking up a bench to sit between sets. The worst kind of people are the ones that take up a bench preacher curl station when they aren’t required . They just use the bench to sit down between sets of curls and use the preacher curl station to set the barbell at waste level. It’s embarrassingly lazy

That and. Supersetting with more than one machine is greedy and should be banned. Oh, and a water bottle isn't a way to reserve anything. So I don't know where these people get off.

My two other pet peeves are when someone puts the 100’s on the leg press and leaves them there and when they load up a bunch of plates and then walk away when done.
I would say…wipe the equipment down when you done…especially when you’re a sweaty. Some people look like they did a marathon in a hurricane then go to a benchpress and walk off like nothing happened 🤬

I once had to deal with a guy doing clamshells right in front of the dumbbell rack. He wasn’t even using dumbbells and what’s worse is he was moving back and forth. Had he simply continued in one direction he would soon no longer be in front of the dumbbells, but he actively switched direction to continue blocking them
The message would be: Working out directly in front of the dumb bell rack is killing your gainz!
I thought he would say you don’t need to do front raises But this is better
“This is me, your god, you were right” and then watch the chaos unfold

If I had to guess I'd say it's because he feels he's already said everything that needed to be said in long form videos. There's only so much you can say before you either start repeating yourself over and over or get into woo woo territory. If he kept on making longer videos just for the sake of making them then he'd be a bit of a hypocrite for calling out fitness "influencers" for doing the same. Regardless, I respect him for either taking a break when he felt he needed to or for stopping when he felt he was done.

He should really consider one-upping his content because he is one of the few guys who actually can.

my gym has a line on the ground you have to be behind to lift/use benches, makes so much sense
Someone was doin this yesterday it stright irritated me. He was doin lateral raises with 40lb weights but he grabbed the weights and took 2 steps to the side which blocked people from grabbing 50's-80's. I walked up and was like i needa grab a pair of the 65's and he scooched over 2 steps to go back to blocking were he got his 40's. I grab my wights and i go to the other end away from people completely.
This unlocked a fever memory of the streamer Destiny arguing with someone who couldn't understand that you can take a few steps off to the side.
I will literally walk my dumbells as far out of the way as humanly possible

Same with those who pull their bench so close of the rack that you cant even walk betweem them. Literally right up to it.. Always ask them politely to move back a little, some taking it chill and understand while some take offence and get hostile...
