The move shown at 4:08 is illegal. Even when jumping you cannot cross occupied spaces.

True, she jumped over piece, she can end on the top of another figure and only then she gets more moves or she can swap pieces and have to put that piece on opponents first line.

@bblindreality I believe the "no jumping" rule refers to pieces in the MIDDLE of their move. If you END your move on top of another piece, you get bonus moves.

"Take a stab at" the pronunciation. Hah, Good one! Gyges became king of Lydia by stabbing the king in his sleep at the request of the queen. I forget the old kings name, descendant of Hercules, coaxed Gyges into peeping his wife, nude, to make sure she was super hot. While she was super hot, she didn't like that very much. Anyway, I totally got your joke! >_>

Unfortunately the rules explanation is partly wrong. GREAT game, though.

You can move only through empty space. You can't use the empty space twice.

Actually you can use an empty space twice, as long as you cross different borders. Each borderline between spaces can only be crossed once.

Is not like chess. Gyges don't have a fix starting position.

The pronunciation is almost correct but I believe that both G's are pronounced hard, not soft. The first part is pronounced the same way as guy, and the second part is pronounced like the word geezer, without the "er" on the end... "guy-geez". Souce: the Essen 2011 game presentation video on boardgamegeek.

Seems easy to learn, hard to master.

Honestly, I feel like Beth's videos are more like advertisements vs. reviews....a combination of the game store setting, and the fact that all of the reviews so far seem ultra-positive with little bad to say about the games. Anyone else feel the same way?
