Jared fuckin killed that green dress both with and without the undershirt, it fit him extremely well. The hat was a real nice touch. Johnny's white and gold dress would look absolutely killer with a corset or something, I felt the middle was just a tad boring (totally personal preference, he looked stunning either way). I really like how Zach styled the black dress with the camo jacket. Everyone can absolutely rock a dress when they feel like it

I get typecast as a dude and I have very comfy Jesus-robe style pink dress that my brother sewed. Covers my top half and my ankles. Keeps me sun protected while enjoying the flow and breeze. Then I just wear shorts so I can sit down without my neck being pulled. Either way it's a very comfy outfit that I love. Clothes are not gendered. :)

For better or worse, Zach and Jonny don’t have broad chests, which meant anything they tried on that was cut for breasts felt too big for them. Jared is very big across the top, so he fit well into dresses that required breasts. (Except Selkie, obviously, since they’re supposed to be large and flouncy dresses.)

Yeah I thought it was a shame they bought so many bland or cheap looking dresses, and dresses that maybe a 19 year old would wear. It would have been better for them to go shopping for dresses that suited them and fit them well, with shoes and accessories to suit like women generally do. This is so genuine. Even for people who aren't plus, it feels like if you don't fit into that "slim and skinny" category people will judge your outfits or personal preference. As a person who is on that weird in-between of not skinny but not exactly plus size, I still get judged for wearing a crop top, or short shorts like you stated! Sometimes just in general having bigger thighs, a larger stomach, filled out arms, stretch marks and such, rather than having that dream body everyone wishes for. It's hurtful on a personal level, but seeing the Try Guys explore and relate to the feelings a lot of people go through, or being catcalled or anything similar along the topics for being judged in public, it's pretty healing and helps a lot of people (myself included) feel much more confident and ready to say hey! This is me and what I like to wear, if you don't like it so what! 🤍

I so badly want to experiment with my style and start wearing dresses and short clothes and things with keyholes…. But I every time I put something like that on I just feel so fat and ugly. I don’t know if it’s my body or if it’s the clothing I’m trying or if this world really just doesn’t consider bigger bodies/differently shaped bodies when making clothing. It’s really upsetting sometimes.

I loved this, I agree with the comments saying they should do a redo with matching shoes and some accessories. I feel like Jared’s fits seemed more pulled together with sunglasses and hats and necklaces, and they all just needed either a matching shoe or some sort of bag or jewelry, and some tailoring to get the dresses to fit with an even more flattering drape. They would look sooo good

I once witnessed a lady in front of me doing a Marilyn by accident, she just laughed and moved on. I was embarassed for her at first but her reaction was wholesome, it really shouldn't be that dramatic.

The green really matched his hair and eyes, but he looked great in both.

If Jared wants to he should absolutely add dresses to his normal wardrobe he really rocks them

Unironically, Zach is my spirit animal. I just recently got diagnosed with fibro, and his videos helped me so much. His reaction to what transpired in the Starbucks is so ME lol I've been feeling kinda down lately so I just wanted to say thanks. Zach showing that side of himself made me feel less alone.

Jared looks amazing in ALL of the dresses he's wearing out in public. The casual vibe is definitely working for him. If he's comfortable and likes them, he should wear dresses more often!!

I think the difference between confidence levels of Jared and the others is the dresses seem to look like they're more closely tailored to him. There aren't as many large gaps under the armpits/side of the chest, the waists are properly cinched when appropriate, and they seem to match his style/vibe. I think that's also why the poofy dress looked so good on Jonny. It looked like it was made for him. All love to the guys for trying this out, I know it's intimidating (especially in public) and they did so well!

Yeah I agree. As a trans woman ™ the reality is that a lot of dresses just don't look flattering to your figure, and it kinda sucks. Would have liked for them to get advice from people who match their body types and wear dresses, so they can do the absolute most to look as flattering as possible.

@@randomnpc7773 Yea, I've heard of my trans friends experiences with how hard clothing can be but I feel like a lot of the dresses they tried in this video, besides a select few of them, could have been greatly improved just by adding a belt that fit with the dress vibe and that way they could adjust it to look more flattering to them. If they got different types of belts to try with the dresses, it would have made them look a lot better.

It's been so long since I've watched the try guys and I've never seen Jared before and oh my god, I have never seen someone suit dresses so well, I can't imagine him wearing anything else, they all look amazing

Jonny is quickly becoming my favorite try guy "guest". He ROCKED that white dress with the gold chains.

i'm back in my try guys phase and all i have to say is that adding jared to the videos has been the best decision y'all ever made,

the absolute best realizations that the guys made in this video, in my opinion as a woman who has worn/does wear dresses, are; 1) that dresses, while typically seen as more formal than most other articles of clothing, can actually be very comfortable, sometimes even to the point of feeling pajama-y, 2) that the “marilyn monroe moment” is a very real fear, and a very possible experience, and 3) the overwhelming excitement and joy of finding out that your dress has POCKETS!!! this was such an incredible, fun, and insightful video, and just a great watch 🥰

I’m actually really touched at Zach’s indignation, because I’ve had some horrible experiences with just walking around and expressing myself and I’ve talked to people about it and I usually get the “well you dress loudly”. I’m grateful that people who don’t normally have this experience are talking about it. It’s just nice to have someone validate how upsetting the experience can be from someone on the “outside”

I had a similar experience but a different reason why. Growing up in alabama some people try to act like racism isn't a thing, but it absolutely is. I had never experienced the awful experience some of the friends had until we were all at this sonic sitting outside eating. I was the only white person there and I had long sleeves on. A group of guys in trucks started honking and screaming the n word at us. I was horrified and none of them even flinched. I turned and lost my mind at them and they straight up apologized, but only to me. I was already anti racist obviously, but it is hard to be truly empathetic and realize how bad people are treated until you experience it yourself. I'll never understand why it is so hard to just let people be, in any context.

I have hope for the future as people become open minded, but I hate that so many have to be fearful amd hold back until then. I hope we can all dress as we wish and just be ourselves. I would have liked to see a stylist guide the guys on how to put an ensemble together. Jared's selection looked most curated, intentional and stylish.

That's what I was thinking. There was judgement but I do think some of it was actually just critiquing the style choices. Dresses are very specific to body types and colour matching is so important.

@@clockworkmedic1026 Im actually surprised it was treated as like “guys get plunked into dresses” and not “guys wear and style dresses like they would any other piece”. We very much have the difference in wearing a garment (Jared) and being a walking hanger here.

Jared's 'fit for Starbucks is truly fierce. I love it. He totally pulled it together in a way that was casual and looked like him. I think some of the dresses would have worked better if they fit their bodies better or had more thought into the overall look. With more time, I think they could have all found their style and slayed it hard.

I so agree. Some of the dresses looked amazing on them and others I was just, "Meh."

One of my favorite aesthetics is beards in dresses, so that little black thing in the coffee shop was gorgeous!

I love how Jared accessorized his outfits. He looks comfortable and chic.

Jared should seriously consider adding some of those dresses to his wardrobe because they were perfection

How does Jared look SO GOOD? He's a handsome dude anyway, but I think he has a real sense for choosing flattering cuts, and tying an outfit together. This man as style.

I have this one party dress I am obsessed with but putting it on is work!

Jared’s styling rocks! The lathered white tank under the black dress with the gold necklaces/hat/sunnies is so cute and intentional looking! Zach’s camo layer with the black dress is such a winner and Johnny was made for his selkie!

I think that the orange body-con dress actually looked the best on Zach! Like he looked AMAZING in it!

Zach's openness and his mindset is honestly so role-model like. The words he put in when they had the little talk after their coffee touched my spirit

I wish they’d brought someone in to style the boys. Like even had Eugene in to help them make an outfit. I feel if they’d been properly fitted and went with the styles they already liked, they’d have really fallen in love with wearing dresses. Especially with zach being uncomfortable with the exposed skin. There’s so many maxi dresses and long sleeve flare dresses he’d probably really enjoy that he could get in funky colours and patterns to suit his wackiness❤

I loved that dress on him! Even more than the Selkie dress.

The wild swings from "I love this so comfy it has pockets" to the parts where they were nervous about their bodies showing (I am looking at you Jared with the reaction to the "you have nice legs" comment) really does capture the full range of dress wearing emotions.

That Georgian man was absolutely taking a photo for his family to be like DO YOU SEE WHAT AMERICA IS LIKE

1. Jared was a whole vibe. He killed it. 2. Zach and the pocket discovery, perfection. 3. Jonny and the Selkie dress was iconic, for sure, but floral black dress was so pretty. I’m now on the hunt for it. 😂

OMG ya'll. This has been some therapy. I'm so glad you made this. I love it. I had a bilateral mastectomy with flat closure last year. I used to struggle to buy clothes because my chest was too big for everything. Now I'm struggling because I lost 2/3 of my clothes and nothing fits right with no breast tissue. I have bawled throughout this video. Welcome to the joy of dresses....and dresses with pockets! YOU ALL ROCK THOSE DRESSES!

I'm a goth myself and tbh the new gen of "alts" have no idea about what it actually means to be a goth or a punk, they just do it for the aesthetic of it, lacking the messages and the principles of the culture, whose are deeply rooted in cretaivity and self expression. They should have been the first ones to approve and give them an approving smile. Highly disappointed

They brought up multiple times in the video that this could be perceived as mockery or a joke. Jared's styling was perfect but I wish the others had a professional choose their outfits so they were clearly intentional to see if it changed the reception they got.

I had similar thoughts. I feel women are regularly judged for what we wear. Either we are too conservative, too flashy, too provocative. We cannot win. There is always someone giving the stink eye to what we wear. The judgement they received as a result of wearing "feminine" clothes showcases the frustrating reality that feminine attire is often unfairly judged. Simply put let people dress how they want.

actually, just saw another of jared's looks and i have to say: HE NEEDS TO USE DRESSES MORE OFTEN BECAUSE IT LOOKS SO GOOD IN HIM AND HE CHOSE SUCH PRETTY ONES

He knows how to accessorize. Notice the chains/necklaces and hats and sunglasses. The others were raw digging their dresses, they should've taken a note and accessorized. They would've slayed.

I honestly hope, given time, we can get to a point where society no longer even does a double take when they see a man in a dress. Honestly some of these dresses looked amazing! Zach in the black cross neck dress looked so natural and suited him so well, Jared in the long green floral was exactly the same, so natural and suited him. The highlight was how much Jonny adored the poofy selkie dress
