@Will Reese Oh yeah, totally! We have tons of "hunters" who enjoy killing. It's a sport. Even my cleaning lady told me she was on a Treib-jagt" where you go with a group of people, into the forest and kill small animals anyway you can. Mainly Fox. She was excited to have caught one and stabbed it to death. Then I asked her what she did with the body. ....because fox fur could possibly be used for something. No, she just dug a hole and covered it with dirt. 😳 I live in Germany.

Back in the 70's, after my Grandpa had gotten older, he couldn't stand shooting or killing anything. (He was country folk and had hunted when he was younger). After he noticed the rabbits were eating his lettuce, he decided to plant a whole back row of lettuce just for them. They gorged themselves back there and never bothered the rows he grew for himself closer to the house! He was quite proud of that!

Then you would have a groundhog infestation, they multiply quickly like other rodents, they also carry diseases and they do a lot of property damage. We had a a huge infestation, about 150-200 groundhogs, they decimated all our crops, destroyed our porch and siding of our house. It all started because of our neighbor who had them on their property and fed them well, unfortunately he got sick and moved in with his daughter out of state, we had a small family farm and now being hungry they migrated to us, We had no choice but to use poison to kill them, bastards are pretty cute but they have a huge appetite and with numbers they become unleased monsters.

This just happened to me! A young groordundhog moved in under my shed this year and commenced to eating my garden. And if that wasn't bad enough, for some reason, the hog adopted a baby bunny. They travel together and they eat together. I've had to start putting fresh fruits and veggies out to save my garden. Next year, I'll do what you did and plant them their own garden on the opposite side of my house. God I hope neither of them are females.

@Magare Govedo it may be surprising but animals can love too. humans aren't the only creatures capable of feeling emotions and having bonds. see also: animals passing away of sadness when someone they were attached to dies, or animals not eating because they are too depressed their owner isn't there. and using a cat I knew as an example, he would always meow and purr at us when we came to visit him because he was lonely after my great grandmother passed away. so please, stop with your mentality that you are somehow superior because you can speak and say I love you, you are literally no better than a monkey in terms of showing affection and you know it.

@Magare Govedo 🙄 Can't you just let people enjoy? Why do there always have to be such fucking dark cloud people in every thread? What, you think somehow your little post about your opinion is going to make the OP suddenly change his/her mind and agree with you? Just fucking let people have their fun. The world is too messed up for dark cloud people.

That was really kind of him to make a garden for them and housing them and protecting them as well. Most people would chase them away or even kill them. They have a right to live the best lives that they can and this man is making sure of that.
