I totally agree with you and it did seem quite offensive but to be honest i think Satpal Singh was explaining that the religion is not over and it is ongoing. Its a mind blowing concept. you put your message in such a sincere and respectful way so thank you for keeping open.

Well said, Enjoyment is the key, but enjoyment is of the praise only if one is impressed or interested in the one's qualities or it's play. Mind can only focus if it's interested that can only happen if it's impressed. Mantra is only indicator to one's praise and it's and it's plays qualities. Praise can be of plays of nirgun, sargun or shabad (knowledge and music)
