@@skoosc nah, its because there isn't any form of punishment for toxicity. Eural is higher level player who is spectating lower level players, why be toxic? It could kind of be understandable to be salty as a teammate getting screwed over, but a spectator? And even as a teammate, if you're playing as a 30+ and you're harassing sub 20s, why open the lobby to them? You know they are going to be bad. It is a team game and if you notice a teammate is lacking knowledge or skill then flaming them just shows you lack communication as a skill. Which is crazy in a game with resource management as an aspect of it, you can share metal, energy, and units, but you can't share knowledge? It just makes the community look bad and it promotes and perpetuates this kind of behavior. Just like LoL and other team based games that don't have punish mechanics, people always have the time and energy to type horrible things but never helpful.

The way that yellow died was quite comical.

That is what happens when you only build lrpcs and have exactly 0 units. Grunts were probably the worst unit to attack with because of the Beamer turrets.

I just hope more people get into this game!

I don't get it. People with OS over 30 build only walls and cannons and no ground units at all. I am totally a low skill player myself and then i wonder how you end up at OS34 doing stuff like this.

This game is probably unrepresentative of how they more commonly play, maybe they were tired or distracted etc. Polygon's outplays with T1 bots at the bottom demonstrated a very different attention level than the LRPC spam they got into later, for instance. Wonder if they were just trying something out and made the mistake of overcommitting to a strategy that didn't lead to a possible win condition.

Once again, really asking for a 'mute spectator on replay' function for the game. They ruin the enjoyment of the games far more than any positive their chats could bring

Nah, it's fun to watch them type angry words at each other. Besides; in this instance it was directly relevant to the game, as players on the Red team were arguing back with them instead of playing. It's important to keep it in as this absolutely contributed to their deteriorating battlefield conditions that helped the Blue team sweep the win; without it we'd just see half the Red team APM stall for no reason and lose.

It's very hard to enjoy these when the spectator chat is toxic as fuck, I wish you could mute them.

Isn't this an '8v8 match' instead of an '8v8 deathmatch' ? Just the usage of the word puzzles me as a foreigner.

I just call them a Deathmatch because it ends when the last commander on a team dies. You could just call it a match though and it would be perfectly correct :)

i dont play the game but my guess is that deathmatch is the gamemode (even if it's the standard/only mode)

@@TimoRutanen So, a "Match" is won by achieving the game objective. A "Deathmatch" just means that you achieve the objective by killing your opponent(s). Think of it as a modifier: A Free-For-All is just that, everyone against everyone, whereas a Free-For-All Deathmatch is everyone against everyone until only one person *survives*. All it does is call attention to the fact that you must specifically *kill* the opposition. Either way, here "8v8 Match" and "8v8 Deathmatch" are both correct.

Only Lexx and Beasty are really "beginners", everyone else's veterancy chevrons indicate they've been playing long enough that they should know how to play, so observations and criticisms are warranted. The juvenile salt and flaming at the end was unbecoming, but this is far from noob bashing.

Yea. I don't mind criticism, but the "lol noob u suk" mentality never sat well with me. Folks forget they didn't start out amazing in the beginning. Everyone was a noob at some point. Thanks @brightworkstv for fostering a friendly and welcoming BAR community. :)

@@jiffyd22 Yes, no one starts as a pro player, but then you have players like beasty who probably never played at least against BarbAI, or specced some games, and is joining multiplayer lobbies with high OS players. How can you be 3 chev and still spamming T1 arty, building castles with walls, and spamming thugs 30 min into the game? I can see how high OS players hate playing with those kinds of players, because you will most likely lose the match and it's because of a boring and predictable "total noob in my team" instead of something worthwhile

There's a huge leap when you try to go from "ok I got the basics" lobby to the "the actual meta is this" lobbies. If you do something wrong, there is 99% chance you get flamed pretty hard. Like how you are supposed to learn the game if not playing with the good players?

That was one of the worst games youve casted. So much bad play
