Holy shit! I probably sound stupid but I literally had no idea what those decals were for or how to use them. I'm a beginner and I thank you so much!

Same, I thought they were stickers 😅
My arm would probably be shaking when putting those decals
It's batsh*t insane for me to think that applying waterslide decals was so hard when it's really easy
Very helpful video - thanks! Can you do a video on how to apply the "mark fit" solution? I have never used that before - thanks!

late reply here but I did end up making a more in depth video of this process on my channel, link here: ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/fZ6fxrugY6esZrg.html )

@@arised_death awesome! Thank you!
That was good,thank you man...
Wow! That’s so cool!
sinanju stein seen, very nice
very interesting. I have some that could use some decals.
Is it preferred to have a topcoat if you aren’t painting the kit but still want to apply the decals?
@gnaysamoht178
Ай бұрын
Yeah. Topcoat will secure them more. It’s also generally good to topcoat your kits anyways
what if the kit is very old like 2005 old? from Hasegawa(brand) scared of the thing disintegrating after taking it out
You actually made me want to put decals on my Gunpla now, cuz before this, I thought it'll be kinda hard and need some efforts, but turns out pretty easy. Question tho, is it really necessary to use a decal solution or no?
@arised_death

nope it's definitely not fully necessary, it's just one of those things that's nice to have for waterslide decals that are not laying flat or need to bend across an angle or curved surface. I went over the benefits and my uses for the decal solution in my more in depth waterslide decal tutorial vid here in case you wanted to see how I utilize it ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/fZ6fxrugY6esZrg.htmlsi=A-Ebvls2moyfpt6 )
If you ever decide buy g-rework decals make sure to soak em at least 2 mins.

the decals in this video are G-Rework, hard to tell but the video is sped up in the beggining when the decal is put in water. it's all one take but sped up to make the video shorter. as for time in water, size and brand of the waterslide decals are contributing factors. Also I've noticed that blue waterslide decal sheets usually need to be soaked longer than waterslide decals on white sheets but of course this can also vary from brand to brand
@streaky8844

@@arised_death also delpi decals require less time to soak for it to come loose. have not tried bandai tho
@arised_death

@streaky8844 honestly Bandai official waterslides are my least favorite but they do look really nice when you get them to stick and not wrinkle. I find myself using Mark Fit more with Bandai decals. My preference so far is G-Rework then Delpi and last Bandai ws decals
my decals don’t get wet and they don’t stick, what do i do
@arised_death

what kit are they from? are they on a type of clear plastic sheet? you may have a dry transfer decal sheet. some premium bandai kits include water slide decals but majority of the time water slide decals are sold separately or made by a 3rd party company such as G-Rework or Delpi Decal

@@arised_deathhow about the RG EXIA? It has some decals but I am not sure if it's WSD or just dry decals.
@arised_death

@maykelmagpantay9599 most RG kits come with regular sticker decal sheets, not waterslide or dry transfer decals
Can I apply markfit even if the decals are placed already for about a year?
@arised_death
2 күн бұрын
@gyancarlogonzales3068 I would say so, I've had a few kits I didn't put a clear top coat on that I've used mark fit for touching up decals that lifted in corners over time or were kits I did before I ended up buying the decal solution to make them lay flat or 're-apply'

this is a G-Rework waterslide decal sheet for the HG Sinanju Stein Narrative Version, my preferred brand. Delpi decals are great too
I'm doing it the wrong whole time thank you lol
What are those products you are using before and after applying decals?

Thanks mate, but can I ask is mark fit strong is better than the 2 they're using the blue and green decal solution?
is it normal water?
@arised_death
6 ай бұрын
yup, I used room temperature water
is it necessary to use markfit strong? is there any cons in not using one?
@arised_death

it's not always necessary to use the markfit decal softener, I use it when I can't get a waterslide decal to lay flat completely or when it dries and flakes up around the edges later on. It mainly helps with waterslide decal adhesion
@eljrzy1513

@@arised_death what do you use to make them stay on place? mine after drying ,some of them fall off
@arised_death
6 ай бұрын
@eljrzy1513 that is a scenario where I would use markfit solution, although sometimes decals can become a lost cause. I would make sure to dry up as much water around the decal as you can before letting it sit on your first attempt of applying it, if its floating in water on the spot you're applying the decal it may not stick well. If the decal isn't staying or has fallen off, you can dab the brush from a markfit bottle on the decal where you want to place it and press it flat/roll it across with a q-tip to secure its position
So if it has like a white film over it do you remove that?

I think you are refering to the wax paper sheet, usually that's there to protect the decals in their packaging. It is not needed for applying decals

most gundam model kits do not come with waterslide decals, typically they are bought seperate from 3rd party companies such as G-Rework or Delpi. in this tutorial vid I am demonstrating the process using a G-Rework decal sheet for the HG Sinanju Stein (Narrative) kit

It's so annoying with the verka water decal, it will take me for ever.......
Can i do this without doing topcoat?
Can I get the song name? It has an Ozric Tentacles vibe, I really dig it.

it really depends on the brand of waterslide decals you're using and the size of the decal. typically Bandai/Delpi decals will need to soak longer than G-Rework. can also depend on the temp of the water your using, warmer water will usually require less time but isn't always the case. I think the time frame given in my video is quite accurate from my experience doing several waterslide sets for gundam model kits
what the heck? i thought those are stickers lmfao i put it like a sticker
