Guna Yala: Territory of Panamanians fishermen I SLICE
Four hundred years ago, the Guna left the mountains of northern Colombia, driven away by the advancing conquistadors. They sought refuge on a string of islands in the Caribbean Sea, off the coasts of Panama. They now live from fishing, and sell their harvest on markets.
Today, our guide Marc plunges us into the Guna people’s traditional daily life, between land and sea.

"nature is ours, we have to take care of it" I love that
I just learned something new. The Guna Yala and its people. Thank you SLICE.
"I don't take too much because is just me" something that don't happen in our world, where only few takes it all.
This is proof we are not evolving as a species, what a beautiful mind set these peoples have.

Most beautiful documentary channel
This place was amazing. As well, these tiny, beautiful people are so special. They make fantastic art that the woman wear. Oneworld tour. They have a small ship they can take you here. They have good relationships with the people.

Ar 8:00 minutes, reporter asks "how do you know when the water becomes fresh"?. the Guna guy, says"we taste it !" simply tastes it and says, nope still salty !!... hahah
this is so good, shame all the reef and ocean is destroyed for them in next couple years
The machete is the most famous tool ever in history! Lol

The correct name for the indigenous territory in Panama is Guna Yala. The Panamanian government previously registered it as Kuna Yala. Still, the Guna language doesn't have the letter "K." Therefore, the official name has been changed to reflect the proper pronunciation and spelling in Guna. Additionally, Abya Yala is a term used by some indigenous peoples of the Americas, including the Guna, to refer to the entire continent.

Waooo me gustaría este canal en español 🙏 plis
Stay safe
“Nature is ours, and we have to look after it” So I believe this is the Island that is currently being evacuated due to sea level rise. We, the world, have sadly let these people down. 😕
👍👍
I have a feeling these people were originally from Sri Lanka. They might had arrived here early as 7,500 to 9,300 years ago.
First time saw someone eat grilled banana, very interesting

It’s all about sharing - nobody owns the sea!!
These new pop up news documentary channels suck. What happened to the reporter stays with the village people for a month or so ? So we could watch and learn more. This dude literally spent one day in the village and he's like I'm out !
I like the Slice documentaries without the white explorer better. Its 2021 - we don't need a renaissance of colonial story telling

mwillblade you seem to think he’s wearing it for your approval. When you decide to travel miles to see them I doubt they care how ridiculous you look. Does that make sense?
Honor and Glory to the only God Jesus Christ
They weren’t forced to the sea to keep their culture. They ran to keep their life from the ‘’evolved Spanish’’ of that time.SAY IT AS IT IS
And I thought God created the world. 🤦🏽♀️
