Guitar Pickup Staggers - Do They Matter?

In this video we look at traditional Strat staggers and our pickups set which answers the old question - to lower the B or to not lower the B? It's a look at our ID:63GT set which offers a choice of radius stagger for your fingerboard and hopes to solve the problem of string to string volume ...

Great idea. I’m also a pickup winder, the problem I see is if you want to add a metal backplate

Another great video with lots of new info for me. Thanks! And it reminded me that I have a set of your ID: 63GT right here, and it's overdue for another video from me with those pickups. I might even compare them to a couple of your other sets that I also have. Coming up one of these days 😀 Cheers!

Love this level of geekery! I'd love to see a shootout of winding patterns!

Excellent video and an interesting idea- especially using the same length poles in a staggered pickup. Lollar believes (aside from volume balance differences) that a flat pole pickup will be louder with the same number of coil winds, and have more bass and top end presence than a staggered pole pickup. What are your thoughts on this?

I thought the volume difference caused by the distance from the string and pole piece, regardless of the pole piece's length. Can we move these polepieces by ourselves? I've got a pickup that I love but sometimes G string flutters. Fun and informative video, thanks Radioshop!

Does this mean you can set up the pickups flat instead of slightly tilted with bass side lower?

The individual strings vibrating in the magnetic field are each different mass. To get the same string to string volume, you'd also need to account for the mass of the string. No?! Yes? Won't the mass of heavier strings continue motion longer than lighter strings?

I'm seriously musing a set of those going in my Squier JV 62 Strat 🤔
