Hey there, friends! At long last & after many requests, here's my lesson teaching you THE WEIGHT by The Band (1968). As usual, I'll break everything down for you step by step, showing you beginner friendly ways to play each part of the song (including the walk-down riff, intro riff, and even the C#m chord) while also going in-depth with some more advanced instruction. This has long been one of my all-time favorite songs, and I'm excited to show you how to play it! Let's get after it.

Thank you much for sharing with us David~~!~~ The way you explain it is very easy to understand. I love it when you explain, it's like a "D" shape moved up one or "A minor moved up three frets., etc. You are a great teacher. You DA man~~thanks~~

You have the most wonderful strumming technique. Best way to think of the turn around or walk down in the chorus is I to V to vi (minor) to V to IV.

Just a nice to have for a reader such as me. I’m still gonna pick up your sheet music for this and some other tunes you offer, regardless. Once again….thanks, David.
