Guillermo del Toro on New Movie Nightmare Alley, Impeccable Drawing Notebook & Buying Things on eBay
Комедия
Guillermo talks about his new movie Nightmare Alley, his attention to detail, his drawing notebook, his mother being a little bit of a “witch,” learning about tarot cards, getting married, shooting around the pandemic, Rooney Mara being secretly pregnant during it, buying and selling things on eBay, and he quizzes Jimmy about 1930s slang.

Love Guillermo Del Toro. Pan’s Labyrinthe, Devil’s Backbone, Crimson Peak... the only contemporary filmmaker who incorporates the life and importance of the past in the present and understands that the dead continue to live in some form. Even though he didn't direct it, the scene in Gravity between Sandra Bullock and Clooney when he comes "back" to the spaceship is pure Del Toro.

I've only seen Crimson Peak, and that because it was labeled "gothic", and I was so in awe of the visuals that I don't think I really paid attention to the story. I hear good things about Labyrinth. I'm not really into monsters though.

Guillermo del Toro is a truly imaginative filmmaker. I totally believe him when he said he wasn't anxious about making something after Shape of Water. He just wanted to do something different and not follow trends, that's why I love him.
Beautiful imagination and such a passionate guy in person.
Crazy to think legends like; PTA, Guillermo del Toro, Ridley Scott, Denis Villeneuve, Spielberg, Joel Coen, Wes Anderson, Adam McKay & Lana Wachowsky released movies this year. Also, Park Chan-Wook, Damien Chazelle, Christopher Nolan, Alejandro G. Iñarritu, and David Fincher filmed or started pre-production this year. What a time to be alive.
