I always thought Nayos would look corrupted and fleshy but having it be a beautiful fantastical landscape would be a cool unexpected thing and that would fit with what you'd expect of a realm of dreams.

What if it IS a beautiful fantastical landscape, except where Eparch's influence has fully spread?

@@Draconicrose This could be true, for sure. I definitely do want to see the fleshy Kryptis corruption, albeit not covering the entirety of Nayos.

I think where we end up visiting in Nayos having once been a shining city on a hill would be cool, but I'm not sure the idea that it is still a place of any light or opulence in the present day is well-supported. The art from the Wizard's Vault does have some reds, but I think it's to denote the rising/setting sun over a generic astral ward-related location not based on any specific place in the lore. It has the same look as the Wizard's Tower loading screen, but instead of a more golden mid-afternoon hue lighting the piece, the vault art uses reds and duller green and gold tones to mimic the ambiance of a low red sun reflecting off the wispy clouds above. Also, Nayos being lush with vegetation doesn't match the themes Anet is leaning into for the Kryptis and their realm, imo. Peitha makes a point in some of her dialogue to emphasize the difference between Tyria and the Realm of Dreams. She calls our Tyrian air "sweet" and finds it surprising that Eparch would have ever resided in a place with as much light as the Wizard's Tower. But I would be pleased to see the demons making due in the ruins of a once great empire, swallowed by their dark influence. Perhaps the Mursaat or some other beings once had a vibrant civilization there.

Those are some great points. I completely forgot about the comments Peitha makes about Nayos. You are probably right on it being some random Astral Ward structure, it just feels out of place to be honest. Luckily, we won't have to wait much longer to see it.

The only thing I hope is that we get to Nayos, to pen up a new realm (exploration and future possibilities -wise), because I'm afraid of Nayos phasing into the archipelago as another sky island, and I don't think I would enjoy it as much

When did we find out that the Mursaat were originally from Nayos?

During the Strength of the Unseen achievement, there is dialogue from Mabon that states that the Mursaat were exiled from Nayos. There is also one Mabon's journals where he calls Nayos "our home. Our actual home" or something along those lines.

@@Draconicrose I highly recommend it! It gives a lot of insight into Mabon and some interesting lore threads, as you can see.
