Guided Mindfulness Meditation on Awareness of Self - A New Perspective

This is an updated guided mindfulness meditation on awareness of self that offers a new perspective. It is aimed at helping beginners or anyone struggling with consistent meditation to try a fresh approach.
Meditation can seem challenging or frustrating to learn, and hearing that it’s simple or easy can sometimes cause people to give up if it doesn't immediately produce the desired result.
Therefore, this will be a new approach to learning meditation by using a simple demonstration that can prove quite revealing, and also can be a little fun. It can be useful to try at any time, whether in the morning, during the day, or to calm your mind before a relaxing night of sleep.
You'll want to have a notepad or sheet of paper handy, along with a pen or other writing utensil. Once you're ready to go, get comfortable and prepare to develop more awareness and gain a new perspective on meditation!

    Thank you for being here… most liked guided meditation I’ve found. Like other comment(s).. you actually ‘guide’ , give me time, and don’t overspeak. Also like how it’s more work than just breathwork alone.. so basically a mix of guiding and breathing👌 great job. It all comes down to being in the moment.. worry, guilt and shame free!     This is THE BEST meditation video I've listened to. Very effective, you don't overtalk, and it's like an actual 'guide.' Thank you! And I have to add- you have a nice voice.

    I was not sure at first if it would work on me but it really did. Ive been having depersonalization and derealization since the age of 12 (I’m 21) so I have not felt self aware in years. As I was doing this meditation I saw my life flash before my eyes, (i have not felt connected to my body or surroundings in years so I missed my teenage years). There has been an uncomfortable disconnect in my life since last time I was aware of myself I was a child and now I’m an adult (I feel like the girl from 13 going to 30)- but anyways, I was able to see all the versions of myself growing up including my teen years, you helped me feel connected to my life while I was listening (I will keep doing it). After I finished the session I had forgotten everything I wrote until read it again so I recommend writing it down instead of doing it mentally

    Thank you, Nathan. Not sure how to interpret where my thoughts went but like the exercise on self-discovery. Is there an analysis to be revealed especially with repeated exercises or just a demonstration of where the mind goes? Or is it to recognize patterns in thinking? Mine went from a happy memory, to a future plan, to a word (in letter form) of a place I enjoy, to a current project in the planning stages. Curious indeed. Thanks again, Nate!💫💜💫

    You said as we keep practicing we will increase our awareness to thoughts in our mind through out the day (specially thoughts that will bring us sadness and anxiety) why is that? It felt bad to hear that. Why don't we be aware of the happy and creative one?

    I mean in the sense of recognizing stray thoughts. Therefore, if a sad or negative thought comes into our mind, instead of allowing it to subconsciously bring us down and cause anxiety, we recognize it and allow it to float away. Thus, clearing space for those happy and creative thoughts!

    I think my mind is blocking me😢 I only had one thought, home. Then after that I couldnnlt get a thought i could only follow the sound pattern
