Hello, How are the whole score weighted......say i offer 5 modules and i have a B(60-69) in 3 of them and C(50-59) in two, then will scoring a borderline mark of say 48-49, 58-59, 68-69 give an advantage to the overall grade than scoring a lower mark.

Hi there, glad to hear your visa process has started! It will be a little different this year, as we are allowing students to enrol before they arrive into the UK. At the moment the latest we are recommending students arrive into the UK is early November, however if it is still not possible for you at this time, you should get in touch with the university. I hope this helps for now! Jack

Hey Jack, I have some queries regarding M.sc application for students applying from Germany. At present I am pursuing my vocational training in nursing which is equivalent to the three year nursing degree in UK. It is mandatory for us to attend 2 months of theoretical classes and 3 months of practical classes. After completion of my degree I will be receiving a state registered nursing license and will be able to work in the nursing or medical field. Later on, I want to pursue M.sc in biological biomolecular science, so on what basis will the university consider my application ,if ,I apply in Cardiff? Moreover, I am studying all the modules which are generally required for M.sc Biological science. Nursing is a part of biology and biological science, so is it possible that I could forward my application for M.sc in biological/biomolecular science after completing my nursing studies?

Hi Saniya, thanks for getting in touch. Whilst I'm not an expert in this area, if your training is equivalent to a UK nursing degree, you should be able to apply for an MSc, including biomolecular science. However each university and each course will have slightly different entry requirements, so it may be slightly different in each case. When you apply, you will need to send all of your transcripts mentioning your modules, so the university will be able to make a full assessment. Sorry I can't give you a more certain answer. Thanks, Jack

At the moment the interviews for September are being prioritised, so you may have to wait until the Autumn. Students are not able to apply for PSW with diplomas how can the college be so unsympathetic towards the students who spend Lakhs of rupees incurring heavy loans. Who would opt for Cardiff if they are so indifferent to international students

Hi Eve, thanks for getting in touch. Sorry to hear about this situation. Unfortunately I can't comment on each specific case, but the university would only award a diploma to a student who didn't fulfil the requirements for a full degree. The majority of students would complete their course, in fact the UK has one of the highest course completion rates. However there will always be students who are unable to complete their course, and therefore will be awarded the highest qualification the university is able to award. All the best.

Many of the past students were granted diplomas instead of graduation as they have failed by 2 marks or were out of attempts unable to extend their stay or spend money to take an another course have returned to their native country and are in mental depression seeking help from psychiatrists. This is not for what the parents and students expect from your university. Keeping in view the mental well being of the students who are thousands of miles away from their homes. The examination board should review the grading pattern and be just in awarding graduation.
