While I wasn't always eager to say it, while I did do my usual input at the time, I kinda didn't _want_ them to get a win for Scream or Boca. Obviously I _wanted_ the win because they deserved it, but I couldn't help thinking how hollow it would feel without Dongie...

12:05 i absolutely agree with JiU. Ive been following Dreamcatcher since debut and their growth are slow but never stop. They're not like other groups where they suddenly become viral. Witnessing Dreamcatcher went from Nugu group to become well known group is such a beautiful memory for me. I hope Dreamcatcher's popularity won't stop grow until they become the most popular gg in KPOP.

Their steady climb also allowed them to make friends with a WHOLE BUNCH of other people and groups along the way at the stages and backstages. If anybody wanted to put together a game of Seven Ways to (whoever in Korea), just plunk DC into the middle of the spiderweb and you have a really great chance of succeeding. LOTS of other big names in entertainment not just listen to their music and watch their MVs, but actually LIKE the members as people. It's amazing, the ladies are amazing. I am SO HAPPY for them! :)

I also found them the year they debuted (Fly High era) and I regretted so badly that I was not into K-pop enough before discovering the debut they had with Chase Me. I found Fly High, and went straight for Chase Me - love at first sight. As a metalhead from scandinavia, it was hard to say that I "liked" a K-pop song/group considering every genre was so "Hollywood music"-like or too darn sweet for someone that likes a headbanger. They turned the K-pop industry upside-down in my opinion. I went from being "anime is better than K-pop" and "K-pop is just a corrupt thing where cute girls and plastic surgery-boys show up to earn easy money with their looks and company`s fame", to actually fall in love with the shows and Korean culture in general. These girls really opened my eyes, and they continue to do so. Being an Insomnia isn`t just a random call, it`s like a big family that sticks up for each other when needed. They provide us with hard work and great songs, and we give support for them to continue to grow. That is the secret ingredient that REALLY paid out over the years. Becoming an Insomnia was hard work, but hell, I regret nothing over the past 5 years.

@@jamescurfman3284 Honestly, not even seven; you could probably connect a member of Deukae to virtually anyone else within about three steps. 😜 And that second sentence of yours is vital. I've yet to encounter anyone who's actually met or interacted with Dreamcatcher to have anything less than gushing praise for them, both for their musical and performance skills, but also for their personalities; it seems to know them really _is_ to love them...

I never knew that stanning a group of idols could equally feels like watching your kids grow (eventhough I am not a mother and I'm the same age as JiBo). Watching this is so overwhelming. I am tearing up at all of their success. Eversince I found them, I somewhat found my purpose and motivation to keep going in life. Like I wanna be better. I wanna work hard. Life ain't easy but if Deukae can overcame the hardships so why can't I?? All I have to do is try again. And again. And again. Efforts never lie. I hope I can be with them for as long as I can.

The fact that it took this long for Dreamcatcher to get their first win and a group like Brave Girls suddenly become winners because a song went viral shows how fickle the Kpop Industry and domestic consumers are. Anyway, Congratulations Dreamcatcher and Dreamcatcher Company for your great music and perseverance.

Brave Girls is one of the worst examples you could have put here. Sure they got a win because of the song becoming viral (long after release), but its not like they didn't have to fight to survive and they are actually the ones that held the record for longest winless streak before Dreamcatcher won.

@@GLawSomnia oh I don't think it was meant in a negative way. I think every InSomnia shows them the respect they deserve bc we know how it is to wait and hope. You can never plan anything on the internet and Brave Girls is just a prime example of that. DC and BG are both groups that show different ways of how it can work out for small company groups, or not work out: if BG wouldn't have gone viral, they would've disbanded. DC on the other hand chose a specific nice that no one else did and immediately found and audience. And then, they just never stopped and waited until their work, time and their growing fandom would do their part. That's why it's working for them even with a small company. BG were unlucky in that department bc they were doing a concept that was standard for a gg. It's just that DC and BG are both examples for truly exceptional groups bc something like these two happens like once in a lifetime. (I hope my comment doesn't come of as negative I was just analyzing and I'm glad BG is doing well. Their songs have a really retro, classic feel to it that never gets old.)

I raised you one. in 2018 the whole nation vibing to Bboom Bboom, and it only take one scandal to basically derails their carrer and becoming the most hated gg in the whole nation it just crazy how shallow and fickle this whole industry are

@@notyourmom697 yup and the idols themselves take the blame although they can do the least about it (unless it's a bullying scandal but even then, you have large groups of young people under high pressure who aren't all nice people. I think it's actually a miracle there's not happening more bc the working conditions in this industry should bring out the worst in people)

Not with the intention to disclose a scandal just stories of what happened without realising they are telling the story of a VERY toxic environment/group which they seemed to find normal: from really just business relations where the members do not even talk to each other when the camera is off to "sponsorships" where small companies pressured the girls to be nearly or even real Escorts for rich "investors" In many cases the idols have to endure it as they are deeply in dept with their companies who trained them and black mail them with this depts I've been following K-POP for 14 years now and there is plenty of really dark stuff in the industry. They are humans after all

i just recently found out about them. great group of girls. Hard work and persistence, doing it their own way. 👏

Now slowly other group incorporate rock to the songs line txt new comeback and their previous one loser= love (cmiiw) and Gidle Tomboy. It is all thanks to Dreamcatcher who perserve their rock and metal sound throughout kpop and thru them companies realize that international fans love rock too and it is safe to try. From their very first debut and 1st arc solely on rock and metal sound to 2nd arc focusing popular genre with rock/metal and now 3rd arc with a different feel and vibe Dreamcatcher really inspired a lot of kpop artists EVEN THO THE INDUSTRY AND PEOPLE DIDNT ACKNOWLEDGE IT OR SO CALLED PROFESSIONAL ROCK EVALUATOR. They are still underappreciated and i hope we can slowly break that not just ppl praising big group and big companies when doing rock and called on being different and bring rock to the market while Dreamcatcher started from ZERO. I am frustrated but i wanna be a non toxic fans too so gonna spread Dreamcatcher in positivity and hopefully Primavera Sound awake the local market. Beside a lot of fans help us get 1st long overdue win 🏆 so we have to be grateful to them too. 🙏

I'm a Wiz*one (IZ*ONE) but also now a baby InSomnia. I honestly had no interest in Dreamcatcher when IZ*ONE was still a group but after their disbandment, I thought I would never stan a group onward. However, when I heard 'Odd Eye' and 'Maison,' I instantly became a huge fan of Dreamcatcher, especially after learning about their difficult journey and how amazing and talented each of the members are. Despite some of the IZ*ONE members debuting in new groups (i.e., IVE and Lesserafim), their style of music doesn't appeal to me (or give that distinct 'wow' factor) from other girl groups but I wish the best for them. But when I heard Dreamcather's style of music, I was very impressed by their own genre of music that I, as a Kpop fan since 2013, have never really heard from a girl group. Can't wait to become a full-fledge InSomnia!

DC survived rebranding, fought against kpop norms, had to wait 5 years for the 1st win. DC 1st win had to be the most emotional win in kpop history. And now they have 2 wins. I''m so happy for them.

Mainly its bcos the fandom have grown alot b4 the comeback. And then maison cb, boom the new insomnia which include me btw. Went all out on voting. Im obssessed with mamamoo b4 i get to know DC. But the only financially involved is with DC i even bought all 4 version of the albums just to support. And bought all heart jellies and chamsim for voting. I regret not discovering them sooner as i have been a fan of rock genres. Discovering them make me stan them forever. They are a gem. Fall in love with jiu albeit 1 sided love....

I feel so bad for this industry. It doesn’t depend on how talented you are, it just depends on how big your company is 🤡

It's more about name recognition than just being from a big company. Yes, being from one of the big 3 helps, A LOT. But you'll notice that a lot of the recently debuted groups are also hitting it big in spite of them being from mid-level or even smaller companies. Part of the reason for their instant success is because of what I call pre-built fandoms. For example, having a member in your group that was a previous member of IZ*One or that was on one of the the Produce shows (or any popular survival for that matter) gives the group instant name recognition. They also benefit from the fans those people had even before they joined the new group. Naturally talent and skill is also a big factor in their success, but having members that have that sort of history brings a lot of immediate attention to the group. Immediate attention that groups like Dreamcatcher didn't get when they debuted, or even after a couple comebacks.

The fact that this video even exist goes to show how much they've been through. So happy for the girls on achieving these achievements. such a fascinating history they got. They are indeed their own colour. Now let's hope they achieve more achievement in the future.

I keep watching things like this, it is why my eyes are always red and puffy. The second group to ever make me cry over them in a public setting. T^T Dreamcatcher has an incredible story. A tale of their journey to get to where they are today is just amazing and phenomenal. I've been with them ever since they dropped chase me, at first its just a simple love for their music since they have that rock element on them which is my type of music. You just literally made a documentary of Dreamcatcher. I am new to the fandom and seeing this video made me so emotional. They are such an inspiration not just to other Kpop idols but to anyone who wants to pursue their dreams and goals. Patience, determination, consistency, and perseverance are among the qualities that this group has which made them bloom from being an unknown to a well-known group. When they had their first win, I can't help but to cry. I wish I discovered them earlier and be able to celebrate with them and the fans on that day. They're one of the examples of "never give up on your dream. No matter how many times you fail, just continue, and time will come that all your hard work will be paid off" and it did. It's just so refreshing to watch their growth in the Kpop industry. So raw. Although it's late, I'm glad that I discovered and stanned them.

Watching videos like this about Dreamcatcher never fails to make me emotional. I'm proud of these girls and glad I stumbled upon them in early 2021. It took a long while, but I'm strangely glad that it did. As the saying goes, slow and steady wins the race. That said, I'm thankful that Dreamcatcher Company and the girls didn't give up on themselves, on InSomnia, and on the sound that they started with. It really is an inspiring story of perseverance.

These girls got me into their music since Scream, I still love rock music, I really love their rock music as their genre it fits them more

What a great video to come home from work to. I have loved these girls since Minx and I'm finally gonna see them in July live!

I am not knowing much about Korean music group, I just listened to few of them, and it usually from viral or famous group/song, recommended by KZread. one day, I listened k-pop songs in the my classmate's folder, I don't remember what titles are inside but Dreamcatcher - Chase Me. It is 2017/18, so maybe that is their early or even first released song. When I heard it, I feel different colour from Dreamcatcher, and now I am glad they are going with different colour, and after follow their story, I am even more glad they are being different. It started like that, then I follow their MV, their comeback not appear often in youtube recommendation like other famous group, but I only waiting them, Dreamcatcher. Recently I read their history, achievements, after I know they got 4 wins. I didn't even know when they got their first win. When I read comment section of their performance or MV, InSomnia always cheering them, they always says "let's get our first win!", they always comment how talented these girls are, stan talent stan Dreamcatcher. and then, in Bonvoyage comeback, I found out that they already got win. Finally, I aware that I am emotionally connected with Dreamcatcher, and being part of InSomnias, even it just a bit. My tears come watching their first win, I am really glad they got what they deserve after almost 2000 days after debuted, and more than 2700 days for 5 members from MINX. I am happy to become part of InSomnia, recognize Dreamcatcher from early era. And from this video, I got that Dreamcatcher's story is wonderful, beautiful, really great story like from zero to hero. They walk on their own path, from small company, step by step climbing the mountain, with their colour and even become their own-colour. After takes so many times, through 5 years, so many effort, they build InSomnia and winning, and InSomnia keep stay with Dreamcatcher until they got their goal to win, to has their own variety show, to people to recognize them. Reason is just perfect song to summarize their story. and I am glad they re-new the contract, "we can spend more time, together ..." let's spend more time with Dreamcatcher, with InSomnia all around the world!

Idk if I should say this , it might sound a bit wrong and a bit biased but if a boy group did this type of concept they would get much more recognition than what dreamcatcher is getting a girlgroup in Korea , What I meant to say that the majority audience of k-pop in Korea is not yet opened enough to welcome such a dark concept from girlgroups plus nowadays everyone just follows the trend so it's really sad that people like to hear and support only songs which becomes trendy but not something different and unique Plus hope nobody gets offended I'm not trying get hate on boygroups but I do feel like the k-pop industry and generally the world has always been more harsher towards girls even in this age it's still evident , well it's just my personal opinion.

I discovered Dreamcatcher quite late, which was some time last year. I immediately fell in love with them because they're totally different from other girl groups (apart from Mamamoo which I am a fan too) who go for cutesy and girlish genre. I find those too typical that they all look and sound the same. I'm so glad that Dreamcatcher went for a completely different genre aka rock and metal which are my preferred genres too and making them more special and stand out more. Dreamcatcher is also talented with great vocals and tough choreography. I legit cried when they finally won their first show. So proud of you, Dreamcatcher!!!! Thank you for never giving up!!!

Dreamcatcher is literally the best thing I've found in Kpop for me. This is coming from someone who was wary about Kpop in the past because it's not everyone's cup of tea and sometimes there was stigma around it. So for me a group that wasn't just dance pop but also rock concept with some hiphop and other genres mixed in was the perfect in-between group. People who like rock, or like anime, or like a darker concept can also enjoy them; get the best of both worlds. Of course it's not just their concept - once you get to know them you'll find that they are extremely talented, have wonderful personalities, and are trying to spread good messages through their work. I admit I've fallen into the Kpop black hole and spent an unnecessary amount of money on Kpop but I will never regret my support for Dreamcatcher because their journey was a special one and I think they have more to offer this world than just music. Keep doing what you do, Dreamcatcher 💯💕
