Syed Ahmad Shah, better known by his pen name Ahmad Faraz, was a Pakistani Urdu poet, scriptwriter and became the founding Director General of Pakistan Academy of Letters. He wrote his poetry under the pseudonym Faraz.

TOP CLASS!!! Extremely engaging n stimulating session. Faraz Sa'ab's powerful poetry, electrifying recitations, his no nonsense takes on the then turbulent Pakistan n its despot leaders underscore the personality that he had been. Rounding off the session with his iconic "अब उसके शहर में ठहरें कि कूच कर जाएं 'फ़राज़' आओ सितारे सफ़र के देखते हैं" made it resplendent, highlighting the romantic side of the poet. Naeem Bukhaari Sa'ab deserves kudos for being a good n respectful interviewer. Thanks a lot for this lovely upload.
The attraction in Ahmad Faraz voice and the way of speaking make you keep listening for rest of the day. What a beautiful personality he was. Always remain in our hearts.

My great teacher in Islamia college peshawar in 1961/63. We used to enjoy his class and we always demanded that his class should be prolonged as far as he could. Allah bless his soul. However, I feel extremely disturbed when he compromised on the principles of his great father just for getting into the balconies of power. Sir Ahmad Faraz was a man who could never be bought by any one. RIP sir.

A truly great man, Ahmed Faraz saheb. Unfortunately, hardly a handful of people are aware of the lives and works of such intellectuals these days.
I am from Bangladesh,I love the ghazals of Faraz sahib,he is not only a poet but also a philosopher!

What a great Poet he is.A Philosopher, Activist,Visionary man. Above all a Extremely Sensitive Human bieng who Sacrificed his life for Pakistan,Fought for Human rights and Never compromised on his ieadiology..A true Patriot ...He is not dead...He is living in our hearts,in our Souls to Guide us to the right through his Poetry.He is immortal❤

What a Frank and fearless expression by one of the best poets of Pakistan. He suffered a lot but his recalcitrant instinct refused to be subjugated and he revolted against the suppression of human rights.

Very rightly Faraz Sahab pointed out the significance and importance of a speaker integrating a cCouplet/Sher which instantly conveys the gist of probably the entire over an hour of speech. As a growing child in 1960s I recognized this fact when our firebrand MP Tarakeshwari Sinha (she wss from the young Turk faction of Congress) would always use in her Lok Sabha speech or debate not one but many ashaars. Her favourite poet was Allama Iqbal. And the next morning even Emglish newspapers would often carry one such couplet as the lead. My interest and understanding of Urdu poetry has a lot to do the way Tarakeshwari ji introduced me to it vicariously.

MashaAllah. Faiz’s poetry is very deep. I first time read his book, Shab-e-khoon and became his fan and bought most of poetry book, which I read.
I wish your son could watch this again today and reflect on his job description 😥😥
Naeem Bukhari is trend setter of minglish style Urdu as a host. Free mixing of Urdu, Punjabi and English and expertise at all three languages.
Today I feel lucky and privileged to have come across this intellectual treasure.
What a pleasure it was to listen to this. We have had some amazing people in this country of ours.
