    I had no idea that my family's history had a genocide in guatemala my entire family is from there and my father is from mexico. i don't know if i had a family member that went through that horrible experience but i really hope that genocide will never NEVER happen again.

    100 years & multiple genocides, death squads trained in USA by Republicans and armed by them bc they thought they would be sympathetic to rebel fighters

    It depends which part of Guatemala, but almost every friend I have that lives in Guatemala had at least one family member that was killed during the war, some had many family members killed.

    This is heartbreaking, why would someone despise these Mayan Indians and consider them less than human? This old lady is so sweet.

    I’m a descendant from Mayan and my mom and step have told a bit but they don’t really like to talk about bc it was really hard on them
