I’m Slavic and more recently started to get into my cultural heritage including our religion. When I make my carvings as gifts for the Gods I feel more like myself. Culture is important everywhere and matters.

Wow, Tibetan throat singing...I am confused. Should have used the marimba which the Mayan adopted after it was brought over by African slaves hundreds of years ago.

I'm what they call Castizo, about a quarter aboriginal mesoamerican. I don't speak Mayan, in fact I don't even speak Spanish, but the fact remains, I live on land that is rightfully Ojibwe in Minnesota, and though I might not be able to be Ojibwe, I have red blood, i live on red land, and I should be a red man. We should all assimilate as much as our various religions may allow. The fact is that no one is American, Siberian, or Oceanian, that's a fake name we give to lands that should belong to Maya and Inca people, Iroquois and the Aboriginals of Oceania, South Africa, Liberia and the eastern two thirds of Russia. I am not Gunther at heart. I am White Quetzal.

@Fjodor Tabularasa I am in no way deluded by propaganda, I'm sure you'd like Europe to be a set of European nations with a dna majority that is aboriginal to the continent even though reasonable people don't care about race mixing, and certainly the traditional cultures of your ancestors should be preserved and developed upon, just as mine must in my land. As with all mixed people of the new world, the descendants of settlers, slaves, and the victims of conquest, I am a New Worlder, I have as much in common with New Worlders from Yekaterinburg as I do from Sydney or the Island of Tierra del Fuego, we have essentially developed into one civilization over the last few centuries, and we could well be one civilization and nation or block of national allies one day. What do you do at the first hint of European cooperation? You reject it outright, something we would never do among ourselves.

You can find it in the book of Leviticus, chapter five, by translating it into New World Spanish, and reading every third line backwards. If that won't work for you, then ask a Baptist that speaks directly to god. Or, you can try for a vision, and interpret it pretty much any way you choose. Got it?

At what point in ancient history did paraffin candles and marimbas become a part of Mayan culture?

Marimbas have always been part of the Mayan culture, from the tecomates marimba to the double marimba we know today. Paraffin candles became part of our culture due to religious syncretism formed to protect our ancestral beliefs.
