Good god that was one of the worst broadcasts I’ve ever seen at any level. Commentators who clearly did zero research on the teams, no audio from the refs most of the game, producers never showing any replays on the mountain of penalties called…. just a dumpster fire.

Not defending them but you can chalk (yeah I did that) it up to them broadcasting all the games because they are greedy, then saddle us with teams of people that never have broadcasted games together before, on top of people who simply don’t do too many games outside of the crappy games shown on espn U or espn news. They save the seasoned, solid teams for the better bowl games.

@@irishron4861 KU gets the D-tier squad for almost all their games, that is nothing new. This was exceptionally bad. Not knowing why KU would go to Jared Casey on a critical play? How can you work covering D1 college football and not know he is probably the most famous player on the team and has a history of those plays? And the play-by-play lady is the same person who sucked the life out of the thrilling KU-WVU game last year.

Once UNLV figures it out, which I highly doubt they will but they could because of the Casino money, they can build a national powerhouse like they did in Basketball in 89-91 when paying the players was illegal.

Awesome game. Kansas returning most of their team next season and these teams will play again in September 2024. Kansas now leads all time series 2-1. Interesting little nugget is all 3 bowl games today featured the teams being tied in their head to head history. BGSU/Minn was 2-2, Texas St/Rice was 2-2, and Kansas/UNLV was 1-1. Wonder if bowl committee knew that lol? And on a side note Beth Mowins is so annoying to listen to. Her constant screaming is horrendous and ESPN needs to take her off of calling games. She's dumb and tries to be so much like Doris Burke

Perhaps the worst combo of refs and announcers ever aired on TV, congrats ESPN.

As a Jayhawk Alum with decades of crappy footbal, I'm glad to see them playing such high level football. I remmber the 2008 Orange Bowl win. Then the University fired Mangino cause some of the players said he was mean! Long - long embarrassing drought between then and now! Hope the University learned a lesson.

Yes, I was at KU around that time frame and went to some games, including the game against Nub when KU won something like 73-42. Firing Mangino because some players got their feelings hurt set the program back 10+ years. Glad to see them back at a solid level!

As an ISU fan, I'm thrilled KU is back. (Except when you beat ISU this year ) I see the original B8 teams becoming the new upper crust of the new B12. (Not sure yet whether I think Colorado should be included in that) ISU, OSU, KSU and now KU are so much better than those outside the B12 realize. So glad KU is proving they are ready to play with the big boys once again!

Not sure who had more passing yards, the two QBs or the refs for all the flags thrown. I don't think there was a time that entire first half where more than 3 consecutive plays were run without a flag being thrown on someone. But with that out of the way. Great season for the Jayhawks capped off with a bowl win. Rock! Chalk! Jayhawk!

@@BlueInOrangeAgain Until last night Kansas was one of the least penalized teams in the country. 31st if I'm not mistaken, so yes, they did show lack of discipline last night, but that is the exception not the norm.

defense optional...both announcers are really difficult to listen to.

How do you start highlights with the score already 28-10? ESPN that's how. They are not only biased to certain teams but incompetent.

Whats so remarkable about this game is KU started two drives inside their own five. It made no difference. They win going away despite almost two hundred yards in penalties. That offense is so prolific.

They flagged both teams for over 300 yds combined. That's either being way way way too picky or they've been bought by bettors.

1:36 Wish it could have been a TD but only by on-side players behind the kicker as he/she kicks the ball in order to run to get a 1st down or a score. Off-side players, while I wish could touch the ball if the returner fails to (somehow), they have to face a 5 yard penalty (so next play from 7 yard line, not 2) and no score. Happens in Canada almost with No Yards. America with Fair Catch? Nope and it's BS!

They didn’t show any detail of the unsportsmanlike penalties during the game broadcast. They didn’t want to show the thug life tactics that the UNLV team brought to the game. Kansas kids were just stupid enough to fall into that style of play
