4060 is worse. At least the GTX 760 was close to a GTX 680 while the RTX 4060 is not even close to an RTX 3070. Also the GTX 760 was $250 MSRP when the GTX 680 was $500 MSRP so yeah... near identical performance for half the price. Wish that was the case with the 3080 and 4060.

These are some of my favorite kinds of videos. It's great to see the old stuff get tested. It's too bad Kepler aged like milk in the sun, thanks to its limited DX features and most cards coming with 2GB of VRAM.

well, I'm still doing fine with a r9 290 4gb to this day, it ran cyberpunk quite nice too

What about 900p and lower the details a little bit?

I had a 4GB version of the GTX 760, and I remember exactly that at that time I had 40-45 fps in The Witcher 3 at high settings, and now this value is only achieved at low settings, the old version of this game was better; )

I'm surprised the 760 still plays so well, apart from cyberpunk. You can actually fly fine with 20 fps in flightsim.

I'm using a 750Ti with a Dual core 4th gen i7, perfect for older games. I'll upgrade when games get good again.

How come Valve hasn't updated CS 2 to use Dx12?

@@LeonAlkoholik67 Yes, and it also makes better use of the GPU, I used it in HL Alyx and there was a slight increase in GPU and VRAM usage, I just didn't use it throughout the game because the shaders were compiled all the time, and there was also a bug with glass and they were not displayed

Not worth it. GTX 760 is if I remember correctly Kepler, while the GTX 750 Ti is Maxwell, and with Kepler you would have more compatibility problems on newer games (you also would with the 750 Ti unfortunately, because most Dx12 games require a newer Dx12 feature set on the GPU). I had a GTX 745 before, and on the used market I managed to get a RTX 3060 12GB OC for almost 98€ and it was absolutely worth it

But good for you mate, the used market seems really useful in the US and Europe. Unfortunately I live in a 3rd world country and that's not a possiblity here

@@anepicjourney The 750ti is indeed a Maxwell card, but it's a Maxwell 1.0 card. About the only thing of value it inherited from the 9-series is its efficiency. The latter Maxwell cards like the GTX 960, 970, 980, etc are Maxwell 2.0. Maxwell 2.0 cards come with DX12 feature set 12.1 support, whereas Kepler and Maxwell 1.0 support DX12 feature set 11.0. The GTX 750ti was a power sipper of a card, as it works with a 300w Power Supply Unit. It uses around 65w of power which the PCIe x16 slot provides. You should check your system to see what the wattage of the power supply is. You'd need something like a 500w PSU with a couple of 6-pin connectors for the GTX 760 and GTX 970. Most modern cards since the 10-series work with 8-pin/ aka 6+2-pin connectors. If your system only has a 300w PSU, then the best cards you can upgrade to are the GTX 1650 and 6GB RTX 3050. You'd have to replace your PSU if you want something else.

it's safe to say Nvidia has hit their quad-core i7/ hexa-core R5 era

People keep knocking the rtx 4060 however if it went down to 200, people would be happier.

I was expecting 10x frames

It appears that the 4060 is at least five times as fast as the 760 when fully GPU-limited, but some of these tests were not done properly, so we can't know for sure.
