In one of my last videos, we all witnessed CPU upgrade from i5-8400 to i7-9700kf and it was giving just a little bump in-game FPS. So today, I've decided to upgrade my GPU from GTX 1070 to GTX 1080 Ti.
But how much of the difference we will get in-game and other benchmarks?
At first, I will run through a few 3Dmark benchmarks (Fire Strike, Time Spy) and then some games (Apex Legends, World of Tanks, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Far cry New Dawn, Fortnite, CSGO, League of Legends, Rocket League).
For a few tests, I have the data using both video cards and I did quite some benchmarks using GTX 1080 Ti only.
P.s. I've purchased my GTX 1080 Ti as a used GPU from a local site for ~400 EUR (~446 USD).

    I have upgraded from a 1070 to 1080 ti 2 weeks ago, the change in performance is brutal, I do not regret anything, I wanted a 2070 Super but here where I live they were over 500€ up, and I found a new 1080 Ti (Aorus) for 400 € on eBay.

    nice choice man :) Well, where i live, 2070 super is 550 EUR (unless you want to go mini for 500 EUR) So pretty much the same situation. And you can get 1080ti for 350-420 EUR here locally so might be up to 200 EUR cheaper than 2070s :)

    Hey, yep, it fits. But, it depends on a motherboard e.g. there can be motherboard models with bigger heatsinks etc. So you need to check clearance :) It's really big compared to Meshify C case, you can't even remove a rear fan without removing Alpenfohn cooler :)

    hey, what's your current cooler? Do you kave in mind k/kf versions? Will you do OC? well you can quick check my cpu temps before every benchmark top left corner (you have to pause video). I use Alpenfohn EKl Brocken 3 with is qute a huge one, but its mainly designed for a quite work rather than to handle e.g. high overclock. Anyway, e.g. when i play Apex Legends cpu stays at 70-73c. In case you want to get me stress test results ill have to run it, since i do not have the numbers.

    Hey, well, your best bet is your local classified websites in Croatia, where people sell all of their things (including GPUs). Such local places might have these cards cheaper. Sure, have in mind, that currently, GPU prices are super high in general, doesn't matter used or new ones. What's the price of RTX 3060 in Croatia? Asking, since RTX 3060 is pretty much the same performance as gtx 1080ti, but it's a new card with warranty and a few additional features. And so in case RTX 3060 new is same price as gtx 1080 ti, definitely take rtx 3060 :)

  • @EpicGameTech

    @EpicGameTech

    4 жыл бұрын

    Well, I guess 1080 ti would be used, right? Anyway, Here are my thoughts rx5700xt power consumption is better. Around 190 watts vs 250 watts for 1080 ti. Regarding performance in games: - Gtx 1080 ti is around 3-4% faster on average than 2070 super (depending from a title, difference can be up to 10% to both sides) - Gtx 1080 ti is around 9-10% faster than RX 5700 XT (depending on a game, 1080ti can be up to 30% faster) Also, 1080ti has 11 GB of VRAM vs 8 GB on 2070s and rx. So in case you need more vram (e.g. video editing) gtx1080ti has an advantage here. Having in mind some issues with rx5700xt - its good value for the money as a new card. But unless you are advanced user and can spend some time on a troubleshooting, I wouldn't go that way. So, all in all, I would take 1080ti OR 2070s. Well difference in performance is minimal. In case you CAN spend 100$ more, go for a 2070s. But in case you want to save some money and you want to buy a better CPU or storage or more ram and spending that additional +100$, go for 1080ti :) I would say try to get 1080ti for $400 or less (argument that same performance new cards are only +100$ ) :)

    Hey, well i upgraded from 1070 non ti and it was really really good :) Ti is a bit faster, but still, you jump though 2 models (1080 and 1080ti). Regarding upgrading to 1080ti in general - it all depends on a price you can get it locally. In case it's 350-400 Eur - its really worth it. Not even a question. But if it's the same as new rtx 2070 (non super) then you will need to think about it :)

    Hmm, gtx 1070ti is like 200-250 eur depending from a model. So basically, you will "spend" 450-500 eur for 1080ti. Its too much i would say, since -40 eur and you can have rtx 2070 new or +50 eur and rtx 2070 super in your hands. So i do not think its worth from value prrspective :)
