    +DragoonDark97, Yep waiting with a gtx 970 too, replaced my HD 7790 in april/may and costed me about 150 dollar. Skipping a generation is very effective and do-able. Navi or Volta it is ;). Or used Vega and Pascal, but only when (one) those 2 new gpu's are released.

    Unless you're gaming in 1440p and above, I'd be super happy with the GTX 1070 (especially if you got it at around MSRP). 1080p gaming on High Detail in most games is super smooth (well over 60 fps average and possibly 1% low too). Paired up with the 8GB GDDR5 VRAM, you can be sure that it'll last longer than the previous model GTX 970 with only 3.5GB DDR5 VRAM. I don't have a magic crystal ball with me. But seeing Titan V performance in games, I'm targeting that the future GTX 1170/2070 will be roughly around 30% improvement over the GTX 1070. In other words, it'll be like an overclocked GTX 1080. Quite an improvement, but not so much that'll make me regret for buying the GTX 1070 today. Pascal GPU is a great card. We've come a long way. The way I see it, you can never go wrong with the 10-series card.

    In Denmark the cheapest GTX 1070Ti is almost $120 cheaper than the cheapest GTX 1080. And it's only $35 more than the cheapest GTX 1070. So which card has the better values really depends on the region where you live :) I got a Zotac GTX 1070Ti Mini 8GB for my ITX machine.

    I have a i7 6700k overclocked to 4.6ghz and a gtx 1070sc and i game comfortably on a 144hz monitor at 1080p. most games reach it but games like bf1 with is super unoptimized since launch and extremely cpu intensive gets around 120-130ishh fps on ultra settings. gta5 is around 80-90ish fps on max settings except msaa i have that on x4. And grass i have on normal. But any other game i play i reach 144 easy. But if you are building a whole new system i say go with the latest i7 8700k and don't look back. A year ago to this day my 6700k was the top dog but now its 2 generations old which is crazy to think about and not really the top dog anymore. Intel is releasing cannon lake next year also which is going to be interesting so maybe wait??? plus new nivida gpu's are around the corner also. 2018 should be a interesting year for the gaming world.

Nvidia will release the high end cards first and they will be expensive. The 1180 will likely be about on par with a Titan v for like 800$, unless amd makes something worthy for purchase

    i have a dilemma at the moment...okay here s the thing... i have a strix gtx 980 at the moment and it can very well play games at 1080p with no issues what so ever. my dilemma is i was planning to purchase the 1080 ti msi gaming x model in late February 2018, but since GTC is on march 26th .. i m severely confused as to should I go ahead with the purchase or wait another month or 2 for the Nvidia Amphere or 20 series or whatever the name's gonna be.. so I seek your guidance HU ... if you read my message off-course...I would immensely appreciate though if you help me out..the thing is that I m from India and i ve started saving up for the new GPU upgrade...and as you know GPUs in india cost twice as they cost at the U$ or Australia. hence its a one shot ...once I dip my toes in, I ll be stuck for about 3 years with the same GPU..hence.. expert guidance is all I seek. thanx in advance and happy holidays. :)

    With the same gtx 1070 gaming X , last year u showed 15% OC in performance but now not even 10% percent. An OC gtx 1070 should match stock gtx 1070 ti.

    i dont think they will go with the 2000`series monika, to much of an issue when it comes to legacy card drivers in the 200 series, i would guess they will go with 1100 series or even 1200 series.

    Why would you buy into the 10 series now with Volta just around the corner?

  • @licentioushowler3400

    @licentioushowler3400

    6 жыл бұрын

    Because for all we know, "just around the corner" could be as long as 5 months or more until the actually affordable gaming cards come to market. And that's assuming they actually maintain MSRP right away. Everybody's situation is different, and plenty of people might be in a position where they are unhappy with their hardware. Life is short. Spending 5 months "waiting on something better" (especially when the days of GPU launches increasing performance by like 40-50% are long-gone) doesn't make sense for everybody.

    i got my gtx 1070 for 350$(price matched at Best buy from an newegg sale) a little over a year ago, factoring that in its a lot more appealing compared to the 1070ti but it was a different time and a different price with the crypto currency rush still on the horizon.

    Fast forward 10 months later and of those I could find,in Croatia,cheapest 1070Ti is more than 100US$ more expensive than cheapest 1070$ which in US$ is 525$ vs 1070Ti 626US$. Also our living standards are much lower than in both USA and in Australia.

    I was gonna skip this generation entirely and wait for Volta, but I managed to obtain a MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X for the bargain price of 4190 SEK (~495 USD). ...and only a few days later my EVGA GTX 980 Ti broke. Got a EVGA GTX 1070 SC+ ACX 3.0 back on the warranty which I sold for 3600 SEK (~425 USD) Basically I "upgraded" my GTX 980 Ti to a GTX 1080 for the measly price of 70 USD. Sometimes you get lucky, even in the world of hardware...

    In germany the 1070 and 1070Ti are like 20€ apart if you compare two cards of the same board partner while a 1080 from the same manufacturer is usually allmost 100€ over the 1070Ti price. So the choice is pretty obvious.
