I've been rocking this card since late 2016 starting college and only yesterday I luckily managed to get a 3080 FE from the best buy drop. The jump is going to be massive, I can't wait until my other components come in so, but I am here to pay my respects to the goated budget card that carried me through college till now. Yes I too ascended from a laptop 970, which is basically the same as the 1050 ti to the beast that is the RTX 3080 and it really does elevate your gaming experience. Hard to remember a time when having to use low settings on 1080p just to barely scratch 60fps and run out of VRAM constantly, while on the 3080 it just manages 4k 120fps on Ultra settings without even breaking a sweat in quite a few games. Games look so much better and play so much more fluidly than before!

I have this card in my laptop from 2017, it’s not bad. I used to play mostly older games like Skyrim, System Shock and F.E.A.R. as well as modern but low specs games like Factorio.

So I’ve been playing with this card for 2 or so months now. The GPU shortage forced me to get one of these since there weren’t any other reasonably priced options anywhere near where I live. Let me say, it is an EXTREMELY over-hated card. People talk too much trash about this card. It is still very capable of playing new releases. When you go back to the still-popular 2015-2017 era of games, it usually performs at 60fps 1080p with flying colors. The sacrifices one has to make for these performances isn’t too insane either. You just have to really watch what other apps you open up, especially if you’re using 8gb ram, which is something I’ll address now. If possible, get 16gb ram ASAP. It is not only the modern standard for gaming computers now, but you’ll also need it for the 1050ti. RAM was extremely bottlenecking my performance in several games, where I didn’t see any type of playability until after I got 16gb. When you jump through all the hoops, you’ll have a rig that allows you to run modern games at very good fps for the price, usually with very good visuals too. You’ll be able to have a dual monitor setup with discord and maybe another app that doesn’t use up your GPU or ram too terribly. The power consumption is so low that it allows you to just put it in the motherboard slot and call it a day Again, the circumstances have made this recommendation in it’s entirety. If there wasn’t a GPU crisis, I would be recommending better cards that have an MSRP price of whatever the 1050ti usually goes for right now. That being said, you should not pay more than $200 for this card. And when you do get it, start saving up for a better card. The GPU shortage will inevitably end, and you’ll want to snag something better when more and more stock of cards hits the market. For the time being though, this card can pack a punch for its size, price and age. If you need something to hold you off for the rest of the year as you wait the shortage of better GPU’s out, this right here is your card. If you play the aforementioned era of games from 2015-2017 most of the time, you’re in luck. You might not even have a need to replace this if you don’t want to. Obviously the performance isn’t somehow going to change, so that’s a start, and you’ll be able to enjoy that era of titles with usually the best graphical settings at 60fps-1080p Hope this review helps to anyone who’s read it

I agree, I just got this card and Im able to run 120+ fps with low settings on rocket league and fortnite. I tried playing newer games and the experience wasn't even that bad. I was able to run cod at a steady 60 fps by just lowering the settings a bit.

Man, what do u suggest me: I will build a PC for video editing with a ryzen 3600 but I dont know which video card I should pick. In Brazil I can buy GT 1030 for 95 bucks, though on Aliexoress I can get a GTX 960 2GB for $140 or a GTX 1050 Ti for $180. Am I right to pick the one with the most VRAM since it provides room for better textures? I will not be playing Warzone, just singleplayer slow paced titles like RDR2. Should I wait and get GT 1030 for now, pick a budget friendly 960 or go straight for a 1050 Ti? Ah, and theres a 1060 3gb for 235. I personally think that prices wont go down like 2018 with RX 570 for $90 here in Brazil. -.-

@@markinhoofernandes That’s a bit of a tough question, but hopefully I can help you out! One card I’d safely rule out if possible is the 1030. It’s an outdated card that pales in compassion performance-wise in video editing to both of the other cards. To find out which card is best for you, it’s important to consider what programs you’ll be using, how much system ram you have and what resolution videos you’ll be editing. You’re right, VRAM is an important factor for video editing, but really only to some extent. I mentioned how you need to consider the programs you’ll use. The reason I said that is because Adobe Premiere, for example, doesn’t push your GPU that hard, even with 4K editing. A program like DaVinci Resolve though will rely heavily on your GPU and VRAM. If you’re editing Full HD videos and maybe some light 4K editing on Premiere, you’ll be able to settle for the 960 and be able to comfortably edit said videos with it. If you’re able to spare the money, I’d recommend settling for the 1050ti or any AMD equivalent card. A fast, 4gb card like it is enough to give you a smooth experience editing 4K videos on pretty much all mainstream editing apps. Let’s backtrack a second though. If you’re doing video editing, it’s highly important that you get a good CPU and a good set of RAM first. The CPU is by far the most important part of an editing computer. RAM is equally as important too. Getting fast enough ram in a plentiful amount will actually help alleviate some of the pressure off of your GPU. I would highly recommend 32gb worth of ram that’s at least 3200 mhz Make sure you prioritize your CPU and RAM first!!! It would help a lot if you can give me an idea of what your budget for each part is or what your build looks like if it’s already built

@Furquan Unfortunately I searched on OLX and Mercadolivre and both had overpriced cards, people selling like they were new (1050 Tis for $400). I ordered a GTX 960 2Gb for $140 from Aliexoress since it's the only that fits my financial situation. I can only hope that I won't get a failure prone card. If prices didn't have gone insane, I would stick to a RX 580 $100, this card is insanely powerful

In my personal opinion - and I am no expert - you made a great choice. I run an old AMD 455 (3.3Ghz, triple core) with 8GB ram and a 1050Ti 4GB OC. Honestly - unless you REALLY want high end... it just works. Yes, I will be upgrading soon, but the fact is - it's STILL ok in 2021. I'll be upgrading my mobo, cpu and ram - but keeping my trusty 1050Ti and PSU.... I'm not buying a new GPU in this market.

What a horrible time to build a gaming PC. Normally with that budget you should run everything on max settings in 1080p but with the current situation you'll stuck to low to mid depending on the game. It's really a shame. Still whish you a lot of fun with your PC. It's not all about the graphics. My first PC also sucked back in the day. The budget was just way lower.

this is actually my current GPU and i bought it before like 4 years and i was having a problem that the frames was stuck in 60 and 50. untill I found out after two weeks that the problem was from my monitor wasnt for gaming, and it was 50 - 60Hz. and the frames was like 50 frame after i changed the monitor i tested the gpu at 2k resolution and it got 80 frames. so dont hate your gpu before you look at the other components that you are using. also sorry for the long comment (:

@@ItzFarmerJerry I'd suggest you to buy either VA or IPS panel monitors, between 23-27 inch size (23" is my recommendation for the more fps; also, it is better to have a smaller monitor for games to be able to check everywhere in-game with a slight eye movement), curved if you want, 1920x1080 resolution and no higher, 144hz refresh rate minimum and recommended. As a note, fps in games get lowered as the size of the monitor increases and as it's resolution gets better. This is what I am thinking for myself for the time I buy a computer with gtx 1050ti as well.

I bought one of these during the mining rush for ridiculous price, but this was the best I could find. Despite it’s a low end card, almost all games runs on it pretty decently (1080p low@30-40 fps, sometimes even more) especially older games, so I liked it. Few days ago I managed to grab a 3080Ti, so I upgraded to another level, but 1050Ti is a pretty good solution if you are on tight budget.

Reason i bought this was litteraly only to play enlisted on my new pc rig scince my old pc ran it at 12 fps, thanks for showing the gameplay, i am very happy now, it arrives in 4 days, i bought geforce gtx 1050 ti oc asus rog strix dual fan 4gb vers, last one in stock, for 400$ on amazon

This is a nice video and all but testing an entry level relatively old graphics card like the gtx 1050 2gb, with the INTEL Core i5 10400 and 16gb of 3000Mhz Ram isn't really a fair test, as most people that run that graphics card, would most likely not run the other specs with it.

This Test is to show the FULL capacity, that this GPU has. So what you are seeing here, is the the absolut Maximum that the card can archieve. So it makes sense to test that way.

Just update to latest stable version, if it ends up messing things up (not likely) just use DDU to uninstall and then reinstall an older version

Weird tests, I have 1050 Ti in the Witcher at medium 60 fps +, as well as in GTA 5 at very high

I still rock this card. I have had zero issues. Some games are a little jittery at some parts in maximum resolution, but other than that is is great. I bout mine in 2019 for $210!!! I even run my oculus off of it and it does fine.

Gaming in 2021. Settings = Low. The Witcher 3 is hilarious. You can play it on low with ATI HD 5770 as well. Which is from 2009.

I really want to build my own pc with higher specs and I've built them before, I'm just not retarded enough to buy any parts with the current status of their prices. Little gpu still gets it though!

Can I get some advice ASAP from anyone that might see this comment? I’m looking at getting a budget pc to get into sim racing and I just need a temporary gpu that’ll work for the time being until prices come back to normality. Would the 1050 ti be a good gpu to work with just for simple 1080p low/medium gaming on the likes of Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2? Simple games from about 8-5 years ago is all

@@mavvymonday8423 Alright I won’t get the 1050 ti, but would you have any recommendations as to what I could actually get at a reasonable price right now that might be strong enough to just run stuff at minimum settings? I’ve been holding out for all of summer and saving for sim racing gear and it’s just a pc that’s been the limiting factor so really any cheap gpu that would work fine for the time being and can just be replaced or discarded in time when stuff settles is ideal. Or if you have any idea what might be a good pre-build around €350 or less that would work? I’d really appreciate any help you could give just that I’m desperate to get a pc at this stage and it’s not looking like prices will fall anytime soon. Thanks man

I have got almost the same setup but with 8 ram and i5 7400 . Idk why almost every game on the list is running below 40 fps . Can it be the ram ruining the experience?

Bro same. I get 25 fps on gta v. About 25 on warzone. About 25 on beam ng. About 40 on csgo. Something isn’t right at all. Keep in mine these are at 1080p on all the minimum settings. No idea what’s going on. I just ordered a 16gb kit so we’ll see.

@@austinwallace3812 Well , I am getting 100-110 on csgo , but all the other games must be running quite good on low or medium settings . I think that parts are too old and need a replacement . Let me know about your RAM though, quite interested .

To think that in 2022 i would buy a 1050ti for 250 euros ... oh well i was tired of waiting and playing games on 30 fps on minimum setting on my laptop. Got a Ryzen 5 5600X B550 TOMAHAWK 16gb corsair rgb ram the 750 watt rgb corsair power supple 500gb ssd 4tb hdd sharkoon rev100 costed me 950 euros within my budget of 1k for the pc and a 180 euro monitor the MSI optix 241 cant wait to build it

So... it might not be "pwetty" but it still rocks. Yes there is better out there - much better - but bang for buck? 1050Ti all the way - even the 750Ti is... OK..... But anything that hit 40+ FPS on the regular is worth looking at.

Sir, im using this card, but I'm experiencing a screen tearing/flickering while playing games. Only when i play games, normal in windows. I've tried every solution from google+you tube, but unsolved till today. Please help me.
