Kylep 19 i would suggest the GTX 1070 instead, all tho the 1060 is still a great card but for a little more u can get 20~30% more performance. But if you have a tight budget then an RX580 will be ideal since it’s a bit cheaper (depending on where you live) and better than the 1060. 🙂

I've had this card since 2017, still holds up really well, most these games run 60fps+ on max settings, so it's a great card if you don't mind playing medium to high settings which imo games still look great on medium

The GTX 1060 6GB is clearly still an amazing card, and more than enough for modern games at 1080p. I'm upgrading to a Ryzen 5 3600 tomorrow, so watching your benchmarks actually gives me a great indicator of what I can do with my quad-core bottleneck out of the way!

I am planning on making my first upgrade which is an GTX 1060 6GB and I already have 16GB of RAM and an ryzen 7 5700G. So should my pc be good with those specs? ( I am really trying to get a bugdeted gamnig GPU so I can actual play games with good FPS instead of playing old games with the lowest quality ever.)

i really love your testing bc u actually putting the gpu for work, a lot of people just optimizing the graphics settings to get the highest fps like that's stupid if u want to test the gpu u should've put on the highest setting and see if the gpu can handle it or not, again thank you to ACTUALY testing the gpu

To be fair he had ray tracing on. That’s a huge performance hog since his card doesn’t have any rt cores. He needs to turn that off

CsGo need cpu power, is cpu dependent, its more important to have a good cpu (frequency), you don t need such a powerful gpu, thats way is not so relevant in gpu benchmarks, but its nice to have...

I run an i5 6400 paired with an Inno3D GTX 1060 6GB and 2400Mhz DDR4 16GB Ram. I can play AC Valhalla 1080p Medium Preset with an average of 51 FPS for example, and that game came out not two weeks ago. I am very happy with my GTX 1060 and I expect to run it in my main gaming rig till around March 2022, where then I plan on upgrading to something like an RX 5600 XT or better with a Ryzen cpu.

10 series is the best in terms of price/performance, nvidias golden days

The 1060 6gb is still a great card for 1080p. I lucked out yesterday and got a EVGA 1080 FTW for $300. It’s a huge upgrade and almost overkill for playing 1080p

@@deaneyle3940 Yeah the guy tried to scam me by telling ebay i sent the wrong item and then sending me back the GTX 1060 but i told ebay what he was trying to do and they eventualy let me keep the card and the money and i didnt have to pay the 10% selling fee, then i sold the GTX 1060 for £150. I've been waiting on a RTX 3080 on pre-order for months and doesn't look like i will be getting it before new year :(

In 2020, a 1060 6gb might be a better option then a GTX 980 due to driver optimization, the 980 will Still be supported for a few more years when looking at Nvidia‘a good reputation for driver support, but optimizations will definitely help the 1060 in the longer run despite the 980 having a slight raw power edge, both are still wonderful cards if your building a mid-range PC with used parts, I had a GTX 980 from October,2018-December,2019 before upgrading simply because I wanted to play Red Dead Redemption 2 at least on high settings but every other game was still either Ultra or High 60fps

Ezau Wassenberg yeah when I had the GTX 980, I had to play RDR2 at 1080p with all medium settings, ultra textures, and everything was turned on as well besides MSAA, Tree Tessellation, And Full Resolution Ambient Occulusion, And I was getting 40-50fps all the times, occasional dip into the high 30’s in heavy action scenes

@@ezauw19 True but you can still enjoy a game without hitting 60FPS. PS4 is locked at 30FPS and they've had some great games release over the years - Red Dead 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Bloodborne, Spider-Man, God of War etc. It's not all about 60FPS lol.

I have the Zotac 1060 OC recently redid the thermal paste thermal pads and replaced both fans with stock fans and it runs like day 1. 4 years old and still handles everything

Which driver version is the best for GTX 1060 6GB?

I have a gaming pc since 2018. It's not a potato pc, not a 4k 60fps beast pc. Here are the specs. i3 8100f, motherboard: don't know sorry, 1060 3gb,8gb ddr4 2666mhz, 120gb nvme, 1tb hdd, 80+ bronze certified 450w psu,intex cabinet,i3 8100f internal stock cooler.

I pick mine used in 100$, worth every cent for the perfomance

did you lock your cpu to be always at max clock ? 4.2ghz seems overkill for majority of these games.

Im still using an I7 3770k paired with the evga 1060 6gb and still going strong for now.

What cpu are you using?

I've the zotac mini version of gtx 1060 6gb variant and it still plays most modern games above 40fps and some at 60fps even at high settings. I did recently play GOW and after 13-14 hours of gaming in 2 days it was still able to produce good fps with fidelity on. An investment at 2017 still worth every penny even now and for at least another 2-3 years

Gtx1650 runs cooler and renderings benefits from good cpu

I’ve had this card and have made benchmarks on it since 2016, with cyberpunk and many other AAA titles that have coming out being more and more difficult to run I decided to get a brand new PC with RTX 3080 and i7 10700K.

i7-8750H , 16 gigs ram and my 1060 6gig pretty much let me play anything 1080p - 60fps Very High or Ultra (depending on how well optimized the game is).

I play most games no problem medium settings with 150+ FPS besides war zone, which is like 100-120, my cpu is an i5 6600k btw, great card and I have had my pc for a couple years now with no change in gpu or cpu

Should I buy a second hand laptop with specs like i5 7300HQ, Geforce 1060 6gb, m.2 SSD 128 gb + 1tb hdd, 16GB ram in 558 dollars and its 2 years old and has 1 year warranty left or should I reconsider and buy a new instead. I have a budget of 550$?

I was about to jump on the upgrade my 1060 GPU to the 3000 series and then rembered how I over clocked my CPU to 4.7ghz so tried with my GPU, I recently OC my 1060 6GB with MSI afterburn and got an extra 20-30 FPS on top of these averages. BF5 is around 90-95 fps on ultra now with leaving core voltage locked and fan speeds on auto still keep my under 70degrees. I get VR this week and really excited to see what I get now out of the unit

Bought this card 2 years ago for $130. Its still going strong, not the best but good enough for me as I'm more of a casual PC gamer

Its a really great card, holding really well, i have the same, but combined with an i5 6500, and a noticed a big difference on warzone, i have a lot of stuttering (but i dont play since 2 weeks, so maybe it was updated), and in metro exodus (im right now playing it) mine it goes better, in ultra on an average 50fps. Do u think getting a better processor would get me better performance? Anyway, great video!

I have the same CPU and Motherboard except I have the EVGA GTX 1060 6GB GPU. Im running a 240hz monitor and getting 1-3 less fps than you. Its a fantastic card that I will use for at least another year or two.

cap everything to 60 and medium-high settings and you will have a very smooth experience in 1080p. use as low settings as possible in esport titles.

Maybe you have low internet connection like you use a wifi adapter instead of a ethernet cord or you play on a hhd instead of ssd or m.2 those are heavily important

This gpu has hold up well for a budget one like the 1050ti

hey i got drop fps to 40 rather than 60 or higher fps on most game,even if i tune down the settings,what happen?did my GPU broken? i use 1060 6gb and 8gb ram,but always got like 55-60 fps,idk why it happen after i upgrade the newest software update for the nvidia,even if i rollback the updates nothing changes and stayed the same, Like evil within which i can run fine before having this problem now run at 40 to 32 fps all the time and its lagging so much. . .

Obviously a year late, but yes. If you take a game that’s running at 80 frames on max settings, then put it at medium settings, it’s probably gonna jump up to 105 or so

My 1050 ti was doing horribly until I realized there was no thermal paste. After that my gpu was cool, and I was getting good FPS. But now I think I’ll get the 1060.

The regular map and the pacific map run in 65+FPS and I believe if you switch it to Fullscreen instead of Fullscreen Borderless, you’ll get like 5 extra FPS but after one of the updates for some reason whenever I put it in Fullscreen instead of Fullscreen Borderless, it messes up the resolution and adds blacks bars to the top and button and everything is blurry so now I have to play in Fullscreen Borderless which looks exactly the same as Fullscreen but it runs a few FPS worse, idk why, also my monitor is Ultrawide so it needs more power to push more pixels so if you have a regular 16:9 monitor, yours will probably run in even better FPS like 75 or 80 maybe 🤔

The gpu and cpu os overcloak? Or 'ag ? And what the logiciel to see the information on top left ?

when overcloacked properly, you gain like 5-10fps depending on the game ;) PERFECT

Bro the laptop which I'll be buying has 1060 4gb so the performance in 4 GB nd 6 GB will it be same or there will be some difference

it will run for half of the performance basically, less videoRAM = less power i believe. but i have a gtx 1050 with only 2gb videoRAM and it still runs most games fine and pretty smooth with only some hiccups and stutters on online games, the only game i think it really is unplayable online on my 2gb gtx1050 is battlefield V, i tried and it runs like crap,most other gamer are pretty damn fine tho,even battlefield 1 runs smoothly online,battlefield V is way less optimized. (also i don't reccomend buying a gamer laptop, they are way too expensive and can have a lot more problems compared to a normal gaming computer, and also direct cable connection is like 3 times faster instead of wifi wireless connection that most laptops use)
