I think one of the major reasons why the de looks awful is because of the character models. The graphics could be ten times better if the character models are improved.

That's because they put too much cartoonish stuff on the models, if only they went for at least a bit of realism(not saying that the whole game needs to be realistic since it has stuff like jetpack but still) and made them like the og versions they could've done it much better. Honestly, it's playable but gets hella boring after a while.

not only that but everything is very soulless, DE textures through all trilogy were made super clean, gives the city a weird fake feeling that stands out too much, way too clean to create any immersion, and the effects were super poorly made. when you combine all that it just kinda sucks no matter how good the new lighting is

I think it is because the model's bones and the animations were old, that's why it caused bugs and glitches when shifted to a newer engine

All they did was port the game's assets to unreal engine 4 without actually changing anything individually. If they wanted to go that way they should have atleast waited for unreal engine 5, would've looked better

DE is literally the mobile version with a beefed up EnB mod

This aged well, because the mobile/netflix version of Definitive Edition is now fully fixed and better now

When I first ran the remaster, I was surprised that Rockstar didn't add ragdoll.

Движок "Rage", от компании Rockstar лучше. Физика авто лучше и физика всего другого. На нем могли бы и сделать Gta 3, Gta Vice City и Gta San Andreаs Remastered. Было бы лучше играть в эти игры, на этом движке.

Современный Анрил на голову выше Рейдж из гта 4 и на нем можно сделать ровно все тоже самое что и на Рейдж гта 4 , только оптимизированней. Дело не стольктв движке, сколько в команде которой дали делать ремастер. Их главный кодер это собака чел.

I played the original Mafia back in the day. Then played the Mafia Definitive Edition at my brother's house recently. That set my standard. The Trilogy remasters needs to be re-fleshed and have that level of improvement in order to be the "definitive edition" in my mind. The large SA map wouldn't work well with the GTA 4 Rage. GTA 4 cars were very slow because of tight streets. Would seem super slow on SA interstates. San Andreas in the GTA 5 Rage engine would be my expectation for a Definitive Edition. To at least match the tiny company that re-made Mafia 1

Fortunately I heard Zynga, the mobile developer r* purchased for 7 billion dollars, a few months back is most likely making the DE port to mobile. It’ll hopefully look more like the original that way..

@Gunner98 Written May 19, 2022 GTA DE now won’t be released until late 2022/2023 but the mobile version looks like the ps5 version for what I’ve seen. All DE needs now to fix is: 1)increase the overall color saturation on building characters to make them like the ps2 version by default(which you can do manually in settings) 2)rework characters like Denise(SA)to look more like ps2 version 3)delete the dark helo around characters/objects and 3) more blended clouds to separate the sky and ground border connection(SA) None of these steps are hard to correct other than the dark helo and reworking Denise. Try to increase the color saturation and it’ll basically look like ps2 version

Vadim M says it’s only for powerful hardware and that it’s tied to the sky so you can’t reach or go through them like on old SA. My #4 point I guess is kinda irrelevant now but 1, 2 and 3 still need to happen Did you check out the PC gta SA saturation video yet? GTA De would look more like the old GTA if it had that Mod. Ofcouse, DE won’t look 100% like the original in every way via that but at least the overly bright colors of ps2 SA would come back. It’s kinda like how Purple Lamp took the original SpongeBob Battle For Bikini Bottom with its more realistic graphics/characters and remastered it so it looks more like the modern cartoon with overly bright graphics and plastic characters. *RAGE* Engine is king on this gta no matter what, it only need more graphics improvements that’s all

I feel like if they pushed back the Definitive Edition's release just a few more months it could have been, at the very least, a passable port.

wait, I found out IV SA is a Mod for the original GTA 4 Game or something, but I wish Rockstar did add Better Physics to DE

San Andreas was still made with Renderware. GTA 4 was the first on rage

Unreal graphics are better (except the character models, which is too cartoony, along with the GTA 5 assets being used which doesn't fit the game's timeline, such as the picture that showed a girl with a smartphone, in GTA SA, which was set in 1992). Meanwhile the RAGE one has better physics, but as expected it's still unfinished.

A rage version with some modifications, a remaster will download you, a final version with an engine that is better than unreal 4

Because this is a "remaster" not "remake" Physics, Graphics is not everything there is something called scripts and I think they used UE4 because this engine is elastic and it allowed to use existing mission scripts and mocap from original I don't know what is nature of RAGE Engine but I bet if it would be that easy like UE4 they would use RAGE Engine instead and I bet that current situation is like hipotetically they use RAGE for "remaster" they would have to rewrite the scripts from start but they don't have time for this because priority for now is GTA VI
