It is so good for Rio’s brain development to hear you talking to the camera and to him in actual words and not coos and babbles. Some parents don’t talk to their babies because they feel like it’s awkward since they don’t understand, but it’s so good for babies to hear words all day.

I have five kiddos. My youngest is only one month older than Rio. I promise that it is so so much easier to travel with them before they start walking 😂 and also on airplanes we literally have no restrictions for our kids, eat whatever, watch whatever, whatever it takes to make it through quietly. People really are so forgiving with babies in public, in ten years of being a mom I’ve only had one snarky comment. You two are great parents and a great couple, you’ve got this 👊🏻

FRONT HALL ADVICE: Girly pop, from looking at ur front entry.... U NEED A MUD ROOM/UNLOAD AREA. It can be cute i.e hidden baskets etc & still honor the fact that y'all naturally put shoes and ish down there. Makes it FUNCTIONAL & we love function. This will allow u to put things where they naturally end up being anyway. Then u don't have to stress bc they have a cute aesthetic place to live.

Having a specific spot like a mud room to unload can end up looking very messy but I do agree that she should incorporate a more functional entryway. It’s useless if you can’t set the keys down or take your shoes off bc things are too “pretty”

oh lauren! don't look too much at other moms on the internet, especially some of the ones you mentioned. It is lovely that they can have those experiences. But it is not representative of the average family! (especially if they are millionaires) And a baby is not going to understand anything of a basketbal game anyway lol. Give your child experiences that match their level! Where you can both have fun! You have so many more years to come to show him the world! And I know that you and henny will do a wonderfull job!

Unsolicited advice: know your babies best times. ❤️ for example my baby is eight months now but we flew to Hawaii (6hr flight) when she was six months. She does really good in the morning so the flight there was a morning flight and she did so good.🙏🏽 BUT the flight back was in the evening, and she was just over it before the flight even started. 😩Also be OK with knowing your baby will cry. I know that was a really big fear of mine to feel judged by others on the flight while I was holding my baby. I quickly got over it bc babies cry! ❤️ hope you have a great trip!

From a mom of an 11 month old, the more you go out and do stuff the easier it gets! Just push yourself and take the baby out as often as possible. I think the older they get the easier too. 6 months plus has gotten easier.

They go places at that age because it's just easier before they're walking and all over the place. I have a 14 month old and it's arguably easier now because it's more fun and he can eat a lot more different foods! But I always said I'll travel farther away when baby is about 4 years old. They start to remember more then, so I think it'll be worth the wait. Don't feel guilty or like you're not doing enough. At this age, Rio is definitely happy just being with you guys and seeing new things like a bug or a kitchen utensil lol ❤

YOUR DOING GREAT! 💗👏🏼Don't give up on No screen time! It will be okay! Babys will cry and parents just giving them screens to get them to stop is SOO bad! Theres so much data on the damage of it! As he gets older like a toddler i think family movies and no stimulation tv shows like little bear, and franklin are great just limited! He will learn to keep himself occupied with toys and random objects just like our parents did

31:01 tagging the time because if you listen back you're talking about your own comfort zones as parents when it comes to breaking a routine. But it takes time to feel confident in anything you do and as parents, it's one of the most important things we will do. Kids are amazing and it will amaze you how well they do outside of their routine. My favorite part about coming back from a trip is seeing how different my child is. Her vocabulary expands, her personality is vibrant, and it really encourages her to come out of her comfort zone. That is something that has eased my anxiety when traveling with her.

Hi! Mother of a 2 1/2 year old here! Just some advice.. you need to give yourself grace in this motherhood journey. It doesn’t get any easier or harder as they grow up, each phase comes with its beautiful moments and it’s challenging moments. Regarding the going out conversation, take it one day at a time. It’s easy to compare your lifestyle to others because everyone is putting their life in social media, but remember that we’re not all in the same place mentally and physically. So my suggestion to you is to do what feels right. Start going out with your baby to dates to the park, around your community, then slowly take it a step further and involve yourself in social activities, there’s tons in Miami! Especially that are kid friendly. You will definitely expose him to viruses and all those scary things, but it’s part of this beautiful crazy experience. I was you, and I feel like I am you at times.. there are places I still won’t ever take my daughter, but it helped tremendously to take small steps. Now I love being a part of social activities because I see the her face full of joy and that changes everything. You’re doing great! So don’t be hard on yourself.
