Girl repeat after me “I WILL TAKE CARE OF MYSELF SO I CAN TAKE CARE OF MY SON” Get your nails done. Go to workout classes. Meditate. Read some books. Don’t lose yourself. It will help you be a good mother 🖤

I went back to school when my son was born. It seriously SAVED me from getting lost in motherhood. I was a better mama because I had time to and was doing something for myself (and baby too) ❤️ so important!

yess!! and not even because it will make her a good mother, just because it will make her happy. I think we tie so much of what we do into motherhood ofc but it’s okay to do things just for us and not because of our child ❤

So funny you talk about traveling with Rio - I got back yesterday from a week in CARTAGENA with a bunch of friends including my 18 month old and our friends 7 month old. Partly inspired by your wedding vlogs! Even came across your venue by accident for dinner! It was so so beautiful and yes traveling with your baby can be tough but you and Henny will easily figure it out. You can check a stroller and car seat for free on every flight, I found that traveling with my son was easiest around 7 months but seeing him experience Cartagena was so amazing - and I’m pregnant with twins and still did it! Lol you’ve got this!

You’re feeling like you can run a marathon bc after giving birth and raising a baby, a marathon isn’t as daunting! After I had my second baby without an epidural, I began doing all kinds of fitness stuff I never imagined I could. Because I knew I could now! You’ve got this!

You definitely can!! I’ve had one medicated birth and one unmedicated birth. My epidural was such a bad experience and caused me to have a pretty traumatic birth and recovery. Unmedicated sucked, don’t get me wrong, but I’ll take it over the way the epidural treated me any day!!

@@sammerg22 that makes me so much happier with my decision knowing that recovery is worse with an epidural! this is my first baby and yeah that natural labor is no joke, especially the pushing😭 lol but i would do it again!!

I feel like you are the only mom I trust when it comes to talking about relationships when raising a child. I don’t have one yet but I live a very similar lifestyle to the one you had before and seeing how much work you and Henny put into before with therapy and understanding each others communication styles.. idk I feel like people don’t give enough credit to how smart and aware you are about navigating healthy relationships. You are doing great mama so proud of you!!

We are so excited for our baby but he was definitely a surprise lol we got engaged and then 5 days later I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant 😂😅 I’m finally starting to feel better after awful fatigue and nausea. Love watching you and your little family💜 Side note: I just watched your pregnancy announcement video again and I’m screaming. You said you found out after a boozed up cruise and I shit you not… we got engaged on a cruise and I was drinking mojitos in the Bahamas like it was my job. Got home and literally the next day I had the epiphany and took a test and bam. lol surprise.

If this isn’t too personal for you, can you make a video on your breast reduction? Like after having a baby. Did they grow back to their original size? Do you feel like the lift isn’t really there anymore? The scarring? If you would wait to do it after you have kids? I’m currently contemplating getting one but I’m nervous it’s pointless to get it before having kids. Edit/ Add: Breastfeeding after the reduction?

The most insane terrible thing to have 😭 we deserve to take time to ourselves and it’s incredibly sad that we can’t do any form of self care without having some sort of guilt. Even if you have the most supportive partner, it’s an internal voice that tells us we’re bad moms whenever we’re away from our kids💔 thank you for putting it in the way you said it “it sometimes feels ILLEGAL to do some self care”!

Hair loss (everywhere, not just hairline) is super common after pregnancy due to telegon effluvium - aka your body's way of trying to heal after going through something so traumatic and altering to your system. It can last for several , several months and nothing can really make it stop - you just have to let it run its course. The good thing is, it's hair shedding not har loss and it will grow back! Get a lot of good nutrients in and try not to stress extra over it !

Lauren I love this video! May God bless you and your beautiful family. But boy do I have a story about supportive moms. I used to babysit a bunch of families in my community around my area it was like people within 1 hour of me and some just near me. So… I helped one of the single working moms in the neighborhood pick up and drop off her kids to school, practice, etc. one day I took one of the kids to pick up his football uniform, and one of the moms I babysat for prior was there with her son. So I said hi and everything and we had a convo. IM NOT EVEN 5 FEET AWAY and another mom was like who is that, she told her and then starting talking shit abt the mom I babysit for and I. The mothers aren’t supportive in my community. It’s sad. Even one is talking smack abt the other, they will always support shit talking rather than being nice. It makes me sick! I’m so happy you’ve had a good experience in your city, I can only imagine how amazing it feels. because girl I’m 21, don’t have any kids yet. And they were still yapping…

I’m in the trenches right now 😭 I’ve been going to the gym 5x a week and that’s my only alone time so I really enjoy it. You deserve to have as much time as you need for yourself to bring yourself back to center…especially now that you have a baby! Find support and don’t expect your partner to be the only one you depend on because they need time also! It’s worth the investment to find someone to come in and help you. Also don’t forget what they say….” You have to put the oxygen mask on yourself first before you can be available for anyone else…even your children” Also please don’t feel guilty!!! That’s just how our culture has indoctrinated us to think! Continue to shine your light because that’s the best example you can be for your child! Showing them to always prioritize themselves will only enhance how much more they can show up for their life💛🌟🧚

Everyone traveling with their babies because it’s easier and cheaper. When my girl was a baby we flew so many times, once she turned one I had to buy her own seat because she’s a big girl and those tiny airplane seats aren’t it. Then she walks, has big opinions, she was very vocal early, using the potty by 14 months. It was a whole production to get to the airport 😅 my best advice is private parking and bring money for a tip. Parked my car in a private parking lot where they follow you with a bus, they load your luggage, and bring you to your drop off. It was actually cheaper per day than airport parking other than the $20 coming and going I tipped the people to grab all of my luggage, stroller, and car seat

You just have to DO IT. Take the baby and the second time is so much better and it continues to get better!! Don’t get me wrong there’s still tantrums but you still have to live your life🥰
