Growing Giant Pumpkins - 2022 Episode 4 Prepping for Growth
In this episode we setup the pollinated pumpkins to start growing…fast. We use insulation board and sand under them, cull the backup pumpkins, train the vines around the stem and nervously watch cucumber beetles and heat sensitivity on the vine tips.

Id assume the leaf wilt is due to covering with hey, when you do that the roots will grow along the ground between hey and dirt and every single root is exposed to the heat. They all need to be underneath the dirt. Fertilizer might make it worse:/
Plants look amazing otherwise! If you do fertilize I suggest ph balancing it if you want it to work.
Do you use straw over your whole patch for weed control. If so, how does it work?

Just like humans plants need correct ph food or it cannot absorb it correctly.
