I just purchased my first Asian pear tree. I’m so excited to be in my garden every day now
I have been binge watching your videos and learning. Thank you.
This is so helpful. Thanks. Mine are right at the point of pruning off the ill-formed or sickly looking fruit. Great timing.
Very nice Asian pear trees! I also grow a couple of them, taste is much better than the one bought from store!
We are renting and recently found out the tree in our back yard is a chojuro Asian pear. My son said we have to make sure it fruits well it's his favorite glad I found your videos! Thank you..

Grease bands and tree barrier glues are a pesticide-free method for preventing infestations of winter moth caterpillars in the spring. Fruit trees, especially apple, plum, cherry and pear. The grease band or glue needs to be kept sticky and free of detritus from late October until April.
You the man Asian mao👍
I purchase lady bugs every year in April and I also give my tree a shower every day to help keep the bugs down

Hi I have a pear tree which had fruit growing to about an inch then they all fell and I don’t know why can you help plz .
For 4 in 1 can you cut the top off about 1 foot down?
Thanks again 👍🏽
How long ago have you bought the 4 in 1?
How far do you space them apart?
Where can I get a small tree?
Can you spray them?
🙂
Nice tree.

I got it from Willis Orchard. Here's the exact link www.willisorchards.com/product/4-in-1-asian-pear-tree#.XMklf45KiiM
Do you know how well the Shinko will propagate from cutting?

Propagating pears is a bit difficult, but you can try a better method called "air layering". You will get better success with trees using this method.
What you pray to bottom of the pear trees to keep the ants out? Can you show picture of that boiler? Tks

I use Tanglefoot around the base of the tree. I have a video coming up to show it.
Question about fire bright. I bought a barefoot hosui tree. I just now notice a black color on the tip of the branches.. is that what I’m dealing with?? There no new growth just yet. And I see black tip and some black spots on the branch. Oh man I wanna cry! It hasn’t even begin yet.

Black tips could mean that the tip of the branch is dead and dried up. I can't say for sure it's blight. Try planting the tree, the new shoots/leaves should start to come out after a few weeks if weather is good. Contact the company and let them know just in case, so you'll have something to fall back on if you need to file a return.
Most soft bodied insects can't tolerate a vigorous spraying with water of decent pressure.
Can you just spray with neem oil? I have 4 mature semi dwarf trees.

You can, but make sure to do it only when the sun is down and not in the heat of the day.

Khang Starr Thanks! Hopeful for better quality fruit production this year.
Be careful putting tangle foot directly on the bark of young trees if you get too much sun it can burn the tender bark.

Thank you Jerry. I did that as an emergency but I will be redoing it soon. I was going to update the method in the next video.
Can u do a timelapse? 😄😂
The first year you plant fruit trees you should not allow it to fruit. This allows the tree to establish a more solid root system. Growing will go to the root system as opposed to the the fruits. It hurts, but pluck them. Then allow a few next year. You want a good solid tree later.

Khang Starr I took several classes and have gone to many tree sales and county extension sales. It is what is recommended. Good to see you growing them.
Try add borax with honey. Put in a small bowl or plate. This will kill ants colony.
