Growing Arugula in Beer Cans?! (30 Day Recycle Challenge)

The main purpose of this video is to raise awareness, that leaving no garbage behind yourself is actually a very satisfying choice of behavior. I go about it by collecting trash beer cans on the sides of our local road, and reusing them for growing arugula. It took me 30 days to grow a decent size arugula out of the re-purposed cans, big enough to harvest for a salad. But instead of eating it myself, I was lucky to find a friend who could appreciate it even more than I, thus double re-purposing the old cans as garden containers and as a gift.

I love your message. It drives me crazy seeing how negatively we humans affect our environment just by walking down the road. Trash everywhere. Glad to see people taking time out of their day to make the world a cleaner place.

Awareness comes with responcibility, I believe. And sometimes there is no way around cleaning after somebody else (sigh) if I want a cleaner world around me

I just today grabbed some old plastic yogurt cups and such kind of containers I saved out of my recycling and made them into seed starting containers. How wonderful to find this video on the same day! That was a very clever gift for your friend and I hope she made a lot of salads out of her little arugula garden. I also hope you make more videos, your voice and your lessons are very relaxing and inspiring.
