My garden store ran out of amaryllis bulbs at Xmas so I bought trios of hyacinth inside. They are coming up slowly. I planted one set in those leca clay balls. The theory is they give a good combo of water and air for the roots. It seems impossible to over-water as you simply douse with water until it runs out. I have had good luck with this method with my snake plant.

I keep saying I will invest in some, but I don't. I think it's because they need more care than I can provide.

They don’t need much if you just treat them as annuals and toss them after they bloom.
I don't think your red one is Minerva. Minerva is not all red.

Perhaps. Sometimes things get labelled wrong. There is some white on mine, but it doesn’t show up well on camera for me.
