Tyler, I have accumulated 6 amaryllis bulbs. Th bulbs that flowered last year, didn’t bloom this year, so I’ll be following your instructions to hopefully get good rebooking next year. Here are my questions I hope you can help me with. 1. I’d like to repot all of my bulbs into heavier pots (similar to yours). When can I repot these bulbs in fresh soil? Is regular potting soil (like Miracle-Grow) alright to use? 2. I live in eastern NC in a ranch style home, so no basement. For the dormancy period, would placing them under the crawl space be sufficient? Thank you for helping me with this. I love these flowers!

Don’t stress too much that they didn’t flower this year. You can store them in a shoebox in a cupboard or in the garage. It’s a good idea to allow them to grow foliage to restore the bulb prior to dormancy. That being said you can store the bulbs with or without the soil mix and pot. I like to use a well draining soil mix. I give advice on that in my latest YT video (13 varieties one). Hope this helps, let me know!! ❤️

Wow. Ok so , my three massive Jumbo Minerva Amaryllis bulbs have been happily growing and maintaining huge long beautiful leaves since last Christmas! I had trimmed the flower stalks down after blooming, but I did not realize I had to force the dormancy period... So should I even bother to shove them into dark cold hibernation at this point (Dec 6th)?? I dont mind a late bloom, or even waiting till next year, but I just dont want to harm the plant. Also, how cold can the bulbs tolerate ? Im in zone 7. Thanks for your very informative video!

I got my amaryllis last year for Christmas it was supposed to only bloom once but I wanted to keep it so I took the wax off the bulb and planted it, I’ve kept it on my fire place where there is not direct sunlight, and I water it once a week, but since then it has had crazy growth in the leaves, so much so that the leaves grow over 3 feet tall and is too heavy for itself even when i try to stabilize it, and they fall and turn yellow, I’ve cut them and they’ve grown back even bigger and heavier! It’s August now, should I put it in its dormant stage? I just don’t want it to die.

Hey, I need information on what to do with them in Florida. I bought them in December and a few of them were just blooming or bloomed a week later. I keep reading and watching about what to do with the bulbs and putting them in your basement, we ain't got basements in Florida and we're lucky if outside goes down to 50 degrees. I thought the leaves would have died off after blooming, but they just keep growing and the leaves are huge. It's March now and I am not sure what I need to do for them to flower again this year. I can't find any information for Florida. And yes they have been outside all winter and the leaves are dark green and very healthy, do I need to cut them back? is it too late? what do I need to do. Thank you in advance.

Michael, you’re fine until the end of summer. Continue to make sure they are getting enough light and water - sounds like they are doing great! The bulbs need to plump up again which they are doing now. When September rolls around find a dark cool place to keep them.
