I grow flowers and vegetables in Saskatchewan, Canada. My cold hardiness zone is zone 3b. I have an average of 110 frost free growing days each year. The past few years have seen our temperatures go as low as -37C (-34.6F) to as high as 37C (98.6F). Come see what and how I grow in these conditions.

I do a three bin system myself. I try to rotate each bin forward about every 3-4 weeks. I'm sure your compost breaks down much better with the heat that you get. Job well done.

I'm ahead of most 6a as I start seedings 8 weeks ahead of our mid May freeze date. I've a few Black Krim about belt high most of my 14 black Krim has 1 inck tomatoes and 3 inches largest. Definitely my best start with seedings for 4th season.Brleive I'll be eating something about the last week of. June Thornburg Terracotta usually 5 days behind.. I'm mulching my beds in early fall and May at seedlings planting days. Wear a mask molds and fungus are in the mulch Thanks Lady

Howdy, Prairie Plantgirl and handsome Buster!👋 Thanks for the compost lesson.😃 I can't turn a pile anymore; however, I get some pretty nice compost I make in trash bins...no turning...about 4 or 5 months...just food scraps, cardboard, and brown leaves.🍂 I do enjoy your compost videos!👍💕

There’s nothing wrong with leaving the pile to slowly do its magic. It just takes a little longer here because of our cooler weather.

I started refilling the compost bin a couple weeks ago,but then the aspen seeds started falling like snow here and I was afraid to use my grass clippings in case the pile doesn’t get hot enough and I end up spreading little trees all over my garden beds.🫤🙇🏻‍♂️ but I really could use more compost 5his season
