It's amazing to see the Ford Sierra still keeping up with NO technology advancements. Same body shell, same engine, no tire upgrade, crappy McPherson struts. Great battles!

Just about the same technology as everything around it until the GTR's showed up? Impressive that they still managed a couple of podiums in those last couple of seasons though, but it seemed like every time a team switched to a GTR the max possible finishing position of the Sierras dropped!

I can tell you the basic story of group A kinda easily... FIA Group A rules were part of the new set of rules by the FIA. Before that, the name was Group 4 and the class asked racing cars to be "improved vehicles based on streetlegal ones". To apply for GrA a manufacturer had to build a decent number of units of the "base car" (the legal one you could drive on the streets) but that number would depend on the competition and even the year since championships always wanted to have a decent amount of manufacturers involved. During the first few years manufacturers did not took GrA very seriously, just racing whatever model that was already on production. It all changed when "homologation specials" became a thing. Those were limited edition of the cars (usually with only the exact number of units needed to race being produced) that were much more advanced than the actual "normal" versions of the cars. Transmission, differentials and several other parts were exclusive to the homologation specials and that made them much superior against their rivals. The ultimate leap forward happened when, in certain competitions, some manufacturers managed to exploit certain loopholes in the rulebook in order to make virtually unbeatable machines... like the Nissan Skyline GTR R32. The problem? Having such a superior car that costed so much money to produce killed Group A as a whole. GrA was meant to be cheap but cars like the Toyota Celica GT-Four (ST205), the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V and the Nissan Skyline GTR R32 defeated the whole premise of the group, thus killing it.

*SOME MORE CLASS-KILLING CARS* · Toyota 7 and Group 7 (not even a race happened) · Mercedes-Benz CLR and GT1 (Toyota GT-One helped too) · Ford Mondeo V6 and Supertouring (from over 10 manufacturers to 0) · Alfa Romeo 155ti V6 4x4 and ITC (stupidly expensive) · Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird and NASCAR stock car era (became prototypes afterwards) · Porsche RS Spyder and LMP2 (still alive but they were slowed down) · DAF Twin Turbo and Dakar Rally trucks (banned for 1-2 years, then slowed down)

@@DiegoRuiz1991 Can't blame any brands, japaneses were always people thinking about advanced technologies. Thanks to them, the world of car changed a lot in a much better and safe way. Nowadays nobody complains and most of sport cars are AWD. It's always been in racing a story of money and using the holes in regulations to make the Best cars, but also the birth of many amazing technologies !

I am collecting 1:18 model cars and I bought a model of this exact car from Autoart 1:18 scale, but after I got it I saw it looks exactly like this one. And Autoart is making 2 different versions with slight difference in livery. I actually didn't know about this 93'. This car looked and looks a little different now livery wise :)

The R32 was an amazing car ! It's the fault of other teams which didnt adjust and move up with the new technologies ! Nowadays Everybody copied Nissan GTR intelligent 4WD to go faster. Back then the GTR was the first to use this technologie!

僕も高校生の頃にGrAで32Rが好きになり、学校帰りに良く星崎の日産のモータープールに新車を眺めてたなぁ~!結婚前に一年だけ嫁に無理言ってBNR-32を買って改造して乗ってましたけど、もうあのスピード域に行く事はないですが、今は良い思い出です。

32GT-Rの登場は衝撃だったなあ。レースシーンは活気あったし。
星野氏の縁石を踏まずにフワッと浮かせてコーナリングする様に走りの美しさ。
色んなカテゴリーのレースあるけど、グループAが最高👍スカイラインも最高👍
グループA初戦の優勝がハチロクなんて衝撃なんですけどw知らなかったー
コントロール可能な荒々しさがあったR32GT‐Rは優れたクルマでした、新車の最終モデルがギリギリで買えたので数年乗りましたが楽しかったのを今でも思い出します。 レースでも速く、市販車と外観が同じで、ウエッジシェイプと荒々しさが同居したスタイルが今でも色褪せず、好きです。

末期のグループaの1クラスはr32チャレンジカップと言っても過言ではない
1987年国際ツーリングカー選手権インターテックが私の初めてのレース観戦でしたが、グループAマシンの速さと音に感動して筑波サーキットと富士スピードウェイに通って観戦していました!!あの頃に戻って観戦したいですね!!😊
当時、最強言われてたシエラを打ち砕いた日産そして大森ファクトリーは凄い‼︎

R32が出た翌年ほぼGT-Rのワンメイクレース化とした
モータースポーツが熱かった時代! 本当に良い時代でした!
R32が登場し富士へは数回足を運んだ。レースでのR32の強さもさることながら、富士の駐車場はGT-RとGT-S、そしてS13シルビアがほとんどという光景に! その後レースでの出場車はR32だけとなる異常事態が出現w 峠ではテンロク族と言われる軽量スポーツ車の走り屋がブイブイ言わせていた。レースと共に公道においても四輪は熱かったし、二輪もすでにレプリカ全盛の時代。日本のモータースポーツ絶頂期だった。 R32/GT-Rが驚異の速さを誇ったのは開発陣が「レースで勝つ」ために車造りに取り組んだこと。その答えがエンジンパワーと、それを路面にしっかり伝える4WDシステムだった。コンピューター制御によるトルクスプリットの採用によりコーナー途中や立ち上がりでパワーをかけても安定した走行が可能となった。二駆のFRから見れば「反則だろう!」と言われても仕方がないw案の定、1993年にJTCは日本のバブル崩壊と共に終焉を迎える。 そして私のモータースポーツへの熱が冷め、時代はパソコンブームへ…。

90年のインターTEC観に行きました👍 32Rが速すぎてスープラやシエラが2クラスかと思ったぐらい😂😂😂 富士では300km/h出てたと長谷見さんが語ってましたね🤔

のちのMINEサーキット(美祢:みね)です。西日本サーキットのころは反時計回りの、日本では珍しいコースでした。この動画でも、91年あたりから開催サーキットが西日本からMINEに変わっていますね。その際にコースもだいぶかわり、時計回りになりました。しかしMINEも2006年初めに閉鎖され、マツダの試験場になり、今もたまにマツダのイベントが開かれている様です。
