great video! I use the same set plus the compliance badge to heal while perfect blocking (which i'm getting better at, still practicing :D ), works well for me even if I miss some of her attacks :)

That's actually a great tip, I completely forgot about the badges lol.

This bug will definitely train you to perfect block. Once you defeat BW (no cheesing, just melee as you did) you're ready to defeat anything in the yard (mantis aside -I'm still struggling that one xD). I used to fear broodmother but after killing around 8 BWs, Broodmother was super easy! Train you blocks guys!

I’ve got a good tip that I love fighting the Widow I get any weapon (pinch whacker best for the stun and u can focus on black widow and damage the baby’s same time) and set most likely Roly Poly or tier 3 set then compliance badge and any shield that’s tier 3 and u won’t need smoothie and that’s how I kill it might not be your best but life steal weapons also work

This is just what I needed. I didn't realize that the widow was so much harder than the Broodmother. I'll probably use ladybug armor and the compliance badge to boost the heals. One question, would a flavored (spicy) tick sword be worse than a mighty one? Like is she double resistant because shes resistant to slashing AND spicy or does it not matter?

My guess would be a flavored weapon would already be worse than mighty because the base damage would already be lower. Flavored in my opinion only makes sense if the enemy has a weakness to it, otherwise mighty would be the way to go for me.

I did it with full lady bug, fire ant shield and tick sword mighty. But then again, i parry all her attacks, spider cannot touch me in this game 😂

Nice plan!

I used a mighty lvl 7 antlion sword, lvl 7-8 lady bug amour with sleek and beefy green machine smoothies the first time I killed it. I ran barbarian, blademaster, meat shield, cardio fan and mithridatism for my perks. Only blocked when stamina was regenerating. Took around 1 minute and 15 seconds, Hope that helps

Any weapon really is fine due to the lack of weaknesses. It's really just about blocking.

I've killed seven of them and have two supervenom so far. i think the drop rate is rediculous. each spider should at least drop One. I use Sleek Fire ant armor, fire ant shield, and a sour rusty spear. with javelineer and compliance badge. works pretty well.

The drop rate is SUPER ridiculous! I've got 4 I think? Either increase the drop rate or the respawn timer of the Black Widows. I'm fine with either.

I just killed my first BW and got 3 venom and 2 fangs. So either im SUPER lucky or they fixed the droprate.

Do you know if this is different now? I’m playing currently and it says that Black Widows are weak to sour for some reason

I killed one (a black widow) on mild mode with level 9 bulky fire ant armor, a level 9 mighty sour battle axe, about twenty beefy fuzz on the rocks smoothies, some fiber bandages, and a black ox burger. I ended up killing both the one in the tool box and the one behind castle moldorc without dying once.

youd block more of her attacks if you were in first person mode. its easier to judge blocking

I just did something to a black window in game and im happy i did. So the place he goes in the video i built walls and a window in the opening of that cave and baited the window to it and used a black ox crossbow with feather arrows and shot it from afar and did it in like that but if you are going to do it that way then make it so that it cannot jump

Believe you can although I'm still partial to the rusty spear or Macuahitil.

How about bleed damage from the perk from daggers, or moth armor with ranged bleed? It doesn't appear as a reistance

It's possible, but I just don't think the bleed effect does enough to warrant using daggers. With the moth armor being light, I think you'll just take too much damage too quickly to make it worth it.

One of your old builds, the Bombardier, using bombs, might be good to. The widow is not resistant to explosion it seems; or with ur bare fists, using that fist bomb mutation + fist pendant to use the bleed mutation with fists instead of daggers

The unarmed explosive class would work for sure. I've not tried it yet, but once they respawn, we will! Bombs themselves would be more difficult to control I think.

All I do is go in with a level 7 Tiger Mosquito Rapier and level 7 Fire Ant Armor (or even the firefly lantern helmet to see better). As long as you're mediocre at blocking, the lifesteal from the rapier will keep you well above half health. Pop a single bandage near the start for bonus lifegain and *just hit it 'till it dies..*

Thanks Bump! I forgot to use the compliance badge & recommend using the black ox burger for the bonuses! But, a lot of it is just getting the timing down on the blocks. After that, it's mostly a successful fight.

The way to do this is get roly poly armor level five orr better, get the fire sword, geet the fire amulet, kill ten wolf spiders enable anti venom, enable the barbian auto heals, make a anti venom meal using wokf spider remains, any heals help bring the highest healing items you can but they arent needed much. now go kill the black widow or all three at the same time.

Why are the black widows WAY more aggressive for me?!? She doesn't back off even a little. There is not time to heal or even get any attacks in. I feel like it isn't even reasonable to fight her

I can not for the life of my kill the widow... I don't understand why. I literally fought 4 mantises back to back to back. Had no issues with dying. I go to fight the widow and most of the time I can bearly get her down to half health. I don't really understand what I'm doing wrong it's quite frustrating. Maybe it's the lack of smoothies. I never really used smoothies just blood bags might have to start using smoothies instead.

Smoothies definitely help. The healbasas will actually heal the insect as well if they're in the range. That's why I don't use them for combat.

Definitely use smoothies. I use about 10 beefys fighting a black widow. Try to not let your health drop below a third. I try to keep mine about half. And for any summons boss or yard boss stack over time heals like well fed and sticky slop/band aids. It makes the poison not as intense. My method for black widow is 7 mighty broodmother bat, (altho tick sword might be better cause shield, I haven't even tried it yet tbh) black ox burger and baindaids with beefy slop, mantis armor, trappr peepr, coup de grass, parry master, max health, and apex pred. My first time beating the widow I used about 30 beefy slops. Those widowlings are hell. Honestly without the widowlings around, I think the infected wolf is still a tad scarier.

I highly recommend taking out the babies first, makes it A LOT easier! Also, if possible, a Black Ox Burger can help alot with the atk & damage resist which stacks with the associated smoothies. Bandages help for the over time heals, but definitely using beefy smoothies for the fat instant heals.
