I saw it mentioned in another comment, but rapid firing crossbows does indeed lower their damage for a couple seconds, due to Rough Reload. Lowers it by 75%. But crossbows still have their uses. Either you can run Antlion Armor for faster reload times or Moth Armor for movement speed for kiting your target while you pelt them with arrows. The latter also causes bleed damage and gives stamina back on some attacks. The Bard's Tudor was more made for bows, as their faster attack rate with consistent damage allow better DPS and constant area buffing. Best paired with Moth Armor.

That's nice, but i wouldn't use the cross bow like you did in the video as a rapid fire. Also, when using the bards' bow, the nifty needle only works if you pull back and wait around 2-4 seconds for it to be considered "fully charged."

definitely agree it works better with the bards bow lol. would be cool to see this build expanded with a science cone or something with effortless arrow and some other buffs. even a ng4 infused bow. pretty cool though

Over here casually saying just make sure you're perfect blocking when I can't even block against an larva sometimes LOL still a pretty cool build though

The crossbow is 100% the better one since you can block at any time but with the bow you have to wait a few seconds after shooting to parry

Crossbow does a lot less dps. Just manage your attacks and remember the enemies’ average attack cooldown time. The bow does not even have a one second cooldown time. It’s less than that.

I was under the impression that this is a glitch being done with the crossbow but I don't know. Is it a glitch?

I can't recommend using this build in New Game Plus because the bosses have really nasty effects and sometimes you just die with one hit

never spam the crossbow, it deals way less damage...

What an absolute waste of arrows the first fight. Rapid firing crossbows deals MUCH more damage than loading one completely through.
