I actually don’t agree that stronger regulations benefit the consumers long term! Less regulations, would make it easier for companies to innovate in isolated areas making their own helmets better than the rest in an area they believe customers value most! Those advances will than trickle to the rest of the industry who are focused in other areas, yet will import the best features all round. Forcing all the companies to focus on safety means research money is being greatly wasted by the companies as they are all researching the same things! This equals all the other features to take a back seat! Why are Bluetooth sets so expensive and honestly, feel like they don’t belong in 2020’s? Leave people alone! people with their own money will spend their money where it greatly benefits them. This is how the markets are shaped! Where people are spending money, companies want in on the action!

Eli Kruger, do you know what *less regulations” actually makes it easier for manufacturers to do? Cut corners. That’s it. Regulations are writ in the blood of the people harmed (or even killed) because manufacturers cut corners. There’s nothing about the existence of. DOT or ECE regulations which prevented helmet companies from experimenting with different materials, construction methods or features. The regulations simply put into place some minimum standards before the manufacture can put the results of their experiments up for sale. That’s why *you* aren’t the one being the lab rat for those experiments.

@@khakimzhanmiras There are only 2 ways a helmet can reduce concussion. 1. Increase the inertia of the head by increasing the mass to where it reduces the relative force of the motion of the head. This is really hard though due to the relative mass of the planet you smash your head against so it only serves to move the force to the fragile upper spine. 2. Use of progressive crumple zones to slow down the deceleration trauma that causes your brain to stretch and tear inside your skull. The easiest ways of doing this results in larger helmets so more space is created for progressive deceleration. Imagine a helmet that turns riders into bobble heads. Helmets can not save your from concussions and concussion damage is for life. Only not smashing your head into stuff or visa versa will do that.

Just because a new safety standard comes out doesn't automatically make a old not keep you safe. Snell is still a good standard. FIM is just better. @@s70driver2005 "the barely passing" part can be applicated the Snell and other standards too tho, who can say those who passed Snell or other standards did it "barely" or at "full marks". Still there's no point using old standard when a new and safer is "released". Like cars for example: abs, traction control, emergency stop are all standards that every car has nowadays, it's only normal to opt for a safer option and I hope all will adopt the new FIM standard. Because of your critique of the Bell Broozer helmet, which topped the research sources that I was able to find online and the video from Spurge at Revzilla, I ordered one and just got it yesterday afternoon. I found the sizing chart to be right on track with my 23” head fitting perfectly in the 'large' size, intermediate shell size. I also consulted with Rachel, a 'Gear Geek' at Revzilla, who was very helpful in reassuring me that the size chart ran true to my head measurement. I rode in a 25 mph, quartering Nebraska headwind yesterday to see how noisy it would be and was pleased to find that the volume of noise was actually much less than what I had expected. The visor is easy to operate, even with a gloved hand. The vents however, are quite 'positive' and require stopping to use both hands to open or close them....not a problem for me. THANK YOU, RYAN for all the effort you put into your channel and thanks again for helping me select a great modular helmet that I intend to use a LOT!

I like the catch system on the AGV helmets, it allows you to lock them slightly open for better airflow in relative humidity. I'm not sure i agree with the hard to open, I think its just down to knowing how to use it. push and flick in one movement. Although yes the sighting system takes a bit of getting used to.

I also looked at the sharp results and especially when looking for a budget helmet for my girlfriend. Amazing how good some of those scores are in the budget realm as well. In the store over here the ones with good scores had the sharp score on the sticker that is on the visor. Only downside with sharp is the limited array of helmets they have tested. Not even all popular shoei, arai or Schubert lids are tested. Sharp also immediately makes apparent why arai refuses drop down sun visors or flip ups. The hits in those areas are clearly worse. But I do really welcome the new standard as it will cover more helmets and thus force manufacturers to update.

I just got a new helmet about a month ago. I tried on the new HJC F70 helmet and I LOVED IT! It was so comfortable, sleek looking, and loved the colors. I bought an HJC CL-17 two years ago when I got my first motorcycle. I got that helmet after watching your videos about helmet ratings, like SNELL rating. So I got it because it had a SNELL rating. I ordered it on Amazon and when I got it, it was a little big, but, usable. So after 2 years and riding more on the highway daily, I needed a smaller one because the speed on the highway would turn my helmet some because it didn’t fit correctly. I didn’t have $300 for a new helmet, for the HJC F70, so I got an LS2. I really love my cheaper LS2 (paid $150), but, would definitely get an HJC F70 possibly one day when I can spend $300+ on a helmet. Thanks for your review. Love you bro ❤️
