This is a most excellent video. I like how you cut it apart, explain each layer and rating standard. I have ridden 45 years, always buy top of the line helmets offering the best protection. I crashed in 1983 with a Bell Star helmet which save my life no doubt, crash once and you are a believer. After my crash I took a motorcycle safety course and learned how to ride, went on to become a motorcycle safety instructor for 15 years and now just enjoy my wind therapy.

I have the Shoei RF-1400 because of this video and it is everything Ryan said. It is incredibly comfortable (once on) and very quiet but it destroys your ears taking it on and off. The trick is to tuck your ears in to the helmet before you pull it down over them. This reduces the discomfort by 50% but it still smarts a little. Other than that...darn near perfect helmet.

I use HJC's and i've gone through 2 of them due to wrecking myself in late 2019. And I managed to buy another just like it due to how well my first one faired and how well it protected my head from a side impact and I hit the ground bloody hard. Well worth the £300 or so for it and a pretty good upgrade from my Scorpion Exo Combat which only came with 2 types of tinted visors and not even a clear one for night time use or the snow flurry that I braved like an idiot. I still have that one and i'm going to keep it as a momento and it looks really good.
