STB operates a complex system of trams measuring 332.2 km (206.4 mi) of routes on 143.9 km (89.4 mi) of lines throughout Bucharest.
67% of the city's tram infrastructure had been modernised by 2018.
Most trams operated by STB (all V3A, Bucur 1 and Bucur LF models) are manufactured internally by STB at their subsidiary URAC Bucharest (the same subsidiary also handles tramway repairs and is in charge of scrapping vehicles reaching the end of their useful life). Currently, URAC produces three models for STB - two three-section, partially low-floor, wheelchair-accessible models (V3A-CH-PPC/CA-PPC derived from the earlier V3A-93 model and the all-new Bucur-LF model) as well as a two-section, non-wheelchair-accessible model (Bucur 1), made from scrapped Tatra axles with new equipment. Nice to see on your channel also Trams from Bucharest. New trams Astra Imperio Metropolitan are now on the line No. 41. This are modern trams with low floor 100%, AC, charging ports, Modern display, GPS, and energy recovery from the brakes. When they will be fully delivered they will be on 7 lines in Bucharest. The rails will also be changed in order to be fit for these new trams that will be fully delivered in 2024 (100 pcs in total from which 17 were delivered this year 2022). Regarding the Tatra T4 the original plan was to discontinue them this year. Fortunately there are some info that they will be modernize. On the water from the tracks, is indeed a problem that will be solved when the tracks will be changed. Around 40 new trams from VFU Pascani will be also bought. So around 2027 we will have 140 new modern trams that will be used on new tracks. As per Astra Imperio Metropolitan you can check how they look on my channel. (not self promoting just an info from a tram hobbiest to another 😉)

I love this old trams despite their old age. the Low floor ones are cool and nice but this old school trams have that Train dignity that makes them look so majestous.

Really expansive system with great bones. The stations look great and It's great to see the green track! It's time to replace some tracks, update the rolling stock and maybe pedestrianize some of those streets

Yes the tracks need a replacement asap. The Municipality already obtained the EU money to do it. I'm proud by our vast system of trams and i think that it will be a perfect system if more of the lines will be transformed in light rail protected by fences like is the Line 41 which is one of the most used lines and where the trams come at a time of aprox 5 min.

This video is from summer I think. Bucharest in the meantime has finally received the new trams Imperio produced by Astra Arad. They will be 100 pcs. First 18 are already running on line 41. The rest will go on the different lines in Bucharest. Here you can see them: kzread.info/dash/bejne/l4NhybqMlZyYhKg.html Also Bucharest municipality has sign already a contract for the acquisition of 100 trolley busses Solaris 12. They also signed another contract for 100 electric busses from Karsan. There is also another separate auction for another 22 trolley 🚎 and another 100 pcs of new trams.

cool trams! are some of the end bogies one axle and link up with the one on the other wagon? it looks like it.
Seems like a surspingly smooth ride though. Expected worse. I guess szczecin just has the worst tracks in all of Europe xD

The lines presented in this video are the ones that are smooth. Unfortunatelly are some lines like line 5 where the rails from the trak are a roller coster. Fortunately they will replace this nightmare rails. on the other side the line 41 is very smooth.
