The lead singer of the SOS BAND on this song is MARY DAVIS. Amber picked a winner here! This was their first big hit in 1980. You guys definitely need to revisit this band. They were on fire in the early-mid 80s. Next song should be "Just Be Good To Me" or ""Just The Way You Like It. SOS Band has a great discography, and their lead, Mary Davis, was a great singer. Very smooth, distinct voice.

This was THE song back in the day! Ahhh, so many memories!! Sounds like some of the song was cut out though. Must have been the real short version...there should be a section in there where the bass guitar is playing extra long...lol

Love SOS Band! Thank you Jay and Amber! Another song from a little earlier in the disco period that you’ll love is Thelma Houston with Don’t Leave Me This Way! It’s fire!

A 1980 SPRING/Summer CLASSIC. EVERYONE heard this song on the radio. I was only 6, when this JAM came out on the airwaves, but...even I KNEW what she meant by, "...Do it tonight!" The VOCAL on this is eternal. And, the FUNKY BASS AND PUNCHY BRASS!Enjoy!

I was just watching you guys with my 10 year old grandson and he started singing the chorus!!😮😮😮 like hooowwww do *you* know this song??? Great reaction!! And it has to be a classic if you a grandson knows it! It was a *GREAT* era to be in your 20s and be able to go to the club with no beefs, no fights, no shootings, no one acting crazy, just literal non-stop dancing to a ton of great music!!

The SOS Band were fabulous back in the day. A one-hit-wonder female singer you guys might like from this same year was Anita Ward, with her song "Ring My Bell"...

Growing up in the sixties and seventies was so cool from a musical perspective. We had it all, Blues, R&B, Rock'n'Roll, and Disco. So timeless!

Chandra Currely is a singer but she's more known for her singing in the Atlanta area and Tyler Perry movies. Mary Davis is the lead singer for the SOS Band. Sigidi Abdullah produced their first 2 albums. Ricky Sylvers from the Sylvers produced the 3rd album. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced the 4th album.

This song was a huge hit in the summer of 1980. I was going to school at the University of Colorado in Boulder and during the summer break, I was hired as a Peer Counselor for a College Prep program. I'd listen to the local Denver radio station and this song was getting a lot of air play. I had to pick up all the high school students flying into the old Stapleton Airport and take them to the dorm they stayed in for the month they were in the summer program. The girls would all want me to turn up the volume on the radio when this song came on as I drove them to the campus. I was 18 going on 19 years old and it was such a fun summer.
