I just bought a GX555X 14 inch saw and just about have it set up. I too bought the 6 inch riser to give me more depth. that has to be put on yet. I will say that they are well made, quiet, and very little vibration. They are heavy to lift, so you will definitely need help to do that. I also got the carriage for mine, and it is well made too. I am well pleased so far with mine and feel that I got my monies worth on this purchase.

I got one of these couple if weeks ago. Love it but I had a hard time adjusting the table to make it square to the blade. There is not enough room between the trunion and the table to get an open end wrench to tighten some of the 6 nuts. A 3/8" socket will work on some but not all nuts. I ended up buying a quarter inch 10mm socket and a flexible extension. This helps b/c the walls on the quarter inch socket are thinner than the 3/8.

Thanks Drew for your excellent review of the Grizzly 14" BS! I'm seriously considering purchasing one especially since the Anniversary Model is on sale (the same BS w/upgrades...). Great to hear that you're pleased with the BS and your review definitely helped me decide to purchase my new BS! Safe BS'ing and turning to you!

Yes mine was a tight fit, a few hits with a rubber mallet seated it properly. I figured it is supposed to be a tight fit in order to keep the proper alignment of the wheels.

Great review and I like the dust collection port as well as the brush brush. Grizzly doesn't offer a factory wheel brush on this model, so can you elaborate on yours? Did you get one from Rockler and make a bracket?

i asked a question but think added wrong number in my can i put a 2 hp motor for go555lanv the reason i ask the motor on it is not sutiable for resawing with any blade at least i found that with my saw its powerful enough when i try resaw its like trying to cut a chunk of steel even when i try put on higher speed so what do i need to do ive had trouble with this saw from day one

Look into a Porter Cable from Lowes if you aren't needing this much saw. Same basic size at half the cost.

What mobile base did you get? Looking at the dimensions of the saw base from the website, I couldn't find a base that would fit.

Nice labs. One owns me (110# Yellow, Mr. Duke). Got the same saw a couple of months after you did. Packaged it with the Grizzly G4003G 12" lathe. i have not been able to find any hose adapter to fit the factory dust pick up. It is a bit too big for all the 4" adapters that I have bought to try. Got a box of them now. Even the multistep ones do not fit. I would like to hook it to my shop vac. Seems Jet also makes that size outlet that no one makes an adapter for. The Jet dealer couldn't get one and none of the catalogs nor amazon have one that fits. What did you use for your hook up? I know what you mean on installing the riser kit by yourself! Even with a chain fall attached to the ceiling it was a huge handful to balance. I mounted it on a plywood base with casters which made the working height even better for me and formed the bottom shelf for storage. Thanks. Doug.

Lowes or Home Depot has rubber plumbing adapters with a hose clamp. They work great have them on several of my tools.

Hi, do you have or experience any small vibration/shaking mainly in the top area when the saw is powering down?

I have on mine. I think it’s either due to my undeveloped floor and/or blade tension. Take a look at these areas to see if you can eliminate the noise.

Did you buy the Shop Fox mobile base? If so how did you get the lock nuts started on the bolts. I can only get 2 of the 16 started. Just doesn't seem like it should be that hard. Thanks for any advice.

Phil Reynolds I have an extension that chucks up in my drill. The end that fits in the drill is the hex like you have with a screwdriver bit, the other end is a 3/8" square socket drive (square fitting). I held the hex bolt head steady with a pair of vice grips and drove the lock nut onto the bolt with the drill. Wasn't easy, but it worked. Best wishes.
