Resawing on Grizzly G0555X Part 2 - Bob's Woodshop

This 2nd try worked much better once I supported the top heavy G0555X bandsaw. I added a support arm to my Grizzly planer on the back of the bandsaw (2"x4") which made the saw much better supported (which is on 4" wheels). Check out how easy it is to use now. Making free lumber this way is fun and now easy. Next project, an outfield table for the bandsaw.

I got the Lauguna 1412 bandsaw it does well and I've been using the 3/4" Resaw King Carbide Band Saw Blade from Rockler and it is so dope, I get so excited to show it off I find my self showing friends that really have no interest in wood working... but now wish I bought the 18" bandsaw after doing a lot of resawing. I've been resawing very dry red heart wood eucalyptus. You will get much better results with a carbide tip blade.

I tend to agree. A buddy has one. I did buy a Woodslicer blade from Rockler but have yet to try it.

I think the resistance in the cut on is due to how dense that maple is. I was ripping some lumber for cutting boards recently and had issues with a Forrest 20T rip blade with hard maple. No issues with the hickory or black walnut though I cut though. Nice video Bob!!

Leave the ends next time...so when it checks, it checks in something you will cut off, not the good wood.
