AR always looks impressive, unfortunately the rules, for our group, always feel like they needed another round or two of trimming. They have that FFG / Games workshop era feel of the Decadent and the Bloat. Still will look at their rulebook whenever we can see it but if it's like their other games, just won't hit the table enough to make it worth the buy.

Even AI art can look good. Also one can use AI to help create something and heavily edit it afterwards. AI is a tool. Just like any tool, if used responsibly it can be of benefit.

@@rdot8419 true, but to me as an artist the art doesnt really look good tbh. many awkward poses and incoherent design choices, cluttered and when you use AI for certain stuff a lot you just are tired of the look of it. And when they are willing to use AI as a shortcut to make more profit, I also would suspect them using it for the game design itself. And if they were as sloppy as with the art they did...I'd hardpass on this one. There are many other, way more interesting games out there with more passion an unique style imo.

Fantastic to get more info on what is easily one of my most anticipated campaigns of the year. Excited to see some gameplay on this one and see if it lives up to my hopes. If it does, June could hit hard for me, between Grimcoven, Blood, and Mythic battles Isfet!

This won't help, but you may want to take a look at the Sirens campaign on GF that launches in late June

I'm still waiting for my Primal kickstarter but o'boy this looks really nice. Maybe time for a latest boss battler comparison video soon? Or "top 10"... if nothing else. ;)

We're going to try to get it played this week, and hopefully a recorded play too! So maybe late this week, or sometime next.

Tamashii has the rougelite thing going on in the same way it sounds like this will too. It's not a campaign game, but you unlock certain new tiles and such after completing certain stories. Each play you start an all new run, but the tile or two you unlocked stays unlocked. I would rather have a more defined level up mechanism for my characters.

@@meeple I love it. Ive realized I just dont have the time/patience to play through a full campaign game. I love kinfire chronicles but I still havent finished it lol. This is also why im super excited for townsfolk tussle, love the one shot boss battle idea.

Skeptical. Hope there's more to it then just jump in jump out kill boss xyz. Kingdom death monster is only as popular as it I'd due to the settlement phase. The resources are more important then just buying the next big sword. I like the rougelite mention. Sure hope it has rougelite stuff. Don't see any reason why people will play this over cthulhu death may die yet.

I probably wouldn’t actually sign the parchment. I wouldn’t want to mark it up and rather maintain its clean condition. Besides, I have very sloppy penmanship.

I don't play a lot of them, but this one looks pretty cool. It's also not that difficult to learn, but definitely challenging.

I'm really trying my hardest not to get hyped too much at least before the campaign proper launches... but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't struggling right now.

I'll get back with you, or you can check out our other content once we drop it. At first glance, this appears to throw a lot more at your than just a boss to contend with on the miniatures map. Dante felt more like two distinct (yet connected) segments.

It's a game where most of the gameplay is built around the players at the table cooperating to fight a big monster -- something like a video game "boss fight".

"die" = singular, "dice" = plural (and singular in common usage but...ugh)

@@meeple the seeming asymmetry for the heroes, I`m hoping that they have very different playstyles, almost like from Massive Darkness 2 , where each class plays completely different. + the Bloodborn-like setting is killer and gorgeous + not to forget the minis - the preview ones look amazing and I`ve known no bad AR minis, so far + looking at the setting and knowing AR , I`m hoping for basically Nemesis the boss battler :D

I agree. Some are saying they've used AI in their art process, but I haven't seen anything that looks aggressively AI generated.

This looks really cool. I feel like this is going to be expensive based on those components...another "$500 for everything!" type of game :|

Thank you for this Public Service Announcement! There had been very little info released until now so thabk you for putting this video together. Im an avid Awaken Realms supporter, having backed Etherfields, ISS Vanguard, Kings of Ruin and Dragon Eclipse. I'd love to add a boss battler to my collection and also absolutely love Bloodborne. My current thoughts are to eventually pick up a copy of Oathsworn. I should be sold on Grimcoven but i definitely need to see how the gameplay works and what the gamefound campaign brings. Maybe theres a campaign or roguelike style addon. I think theres a lot of campaign style games now readily available that id like to play through with friends. Divinity original sin, oathsworn, clank legacy 1 and 2 to name a few, that i'm now more picky about backing games.

I can't recommend Oathsworn enough. I don't mean to add any pressure to purchase a game, but given the kinds of games your mentioning, Oathsworn is a safe suggestion.

I usually go for all th minis, but in this instance I'm tempted to try the standees and see if playing with standees still provides an immersion experience

It's a fair position for you to take, and no issues with you sharing it. To be completely candid, I haven't formed a strict opinion on the broad topic of AI, and it's uses creatively. AI in general is something the world is embracing in many many respects, and I'm not sure yet (for me) where I draw the line for its uses. I will say that I don't believe that a companies use of it to create product is a negative for consumers though. Certainly perhaps artists and creatives, but the general consumer (including everyone here in the comments) use products everyday that come from companies with questionable practices. Point being, we all draw different lines, and most people accept one thing or another that someone else might not.
