Thanks for sharing. Well done.
Really like the look of this one! Thanks for the GEN CON preview!
Incidentally Dog Poker, Cat Poker, and Nana are available on Amazon Japan for those interested.
You and Jeremy have good chemistry
I and my wife just love this game and i discovered it on lasy month because KZread random short, easy to catch rules, and since dice thrown and card draw is random is not just like another game that feel boring after while because i win 99% of the time and IT is not another coop game that we have to play to both of US have fun, in Dice Throne me and my wife can give 100% and don't be sure who will win to the very end. As for DTA i prefer to play it alone when my wife is not in a mood for board games and tbh it's never get boring 😊
Are you considering Dice Throne Missions, the new co-op system they offered in their last Marvel Dice Throne campaign? I really like that even better.
@@meeple yes. Even if i don't know all Marvel heroes i like some like Peter Parker - Spider-Man (watched even as kid), Iron Man, Thor and Doctor Strange. My wife don't know any but "like how they look". But before that i want season one and Santa vs Krampus (we have only whole season two and DTA but we want to buy another season after new edition Robinson Crusoe will come)
Your honesty is most welcome and highly appreciated. What were your thoughts about Merchants of the Dark Road?
It's be a hot minute since I played Merchants of the Dark Road, but I remember it being a solid experience. With that said, I haven't played it in quite a while, so that might say something for me personally too.
Starts at 3:58
Thanks. We often forget to go back and add those time stamps.
@meeple Not really a big deal, I just see a lot of other people do it, so I figured I'd help out. About 4 minutes isn't as bad as some that I've seen (10 minutes).
Love the Bucky O'Hare deep cut.
Deep cut indeed!
You lookin’ for adventure? Well this is it!
Jeremy, for sure I remember Buck O'Hare and it did have a Video Game. Question which was first, the Game or the Cartoon? Game was on Nintendo, I think.
I just looked it up. The show seems to have pre-dated the game by about a year.
Luthier is French in origin, but in American English you do pronounce the R but do not pronounce the H: LOOT-e-er - originally, a person who makes lutes.
Thanks! If I could add "The More You Know" gif here, I would. I figured we might not be getting it exactly correct. 😅
For the next one of these, could you discuss how BGG does their crowdfunding tracking? Like you guys covered Odalin but BGG never listed it in crowdfunding even though it hit the hotness.
I'll say maybe. I really don't understand how many sites track things the way they do. I imagine the crowdfunding section on BGG is often driven by paid placement - although I could be wrong.
Love seeing you here! Come by all the time!
If only we could get him to move down here. 😃
What brought Jeremy to town?
He comes down every once in a while to play games and record a little with us. We did this, and quite a bit of GEN CON preview videos too!
Great list!
Glad you enjoyed it! You have anything on your personal list we didn't cover?
4:16 solving riddles wont be replayable
I'm sure it'll be a system that abstracts the idea of a "riddle".
@@meeple sure, still but wont be replayable.. concept of riddle is it has one answer
Can cards from shadow of the galaxy (SOG) and spark of rebellion (SOR) all be used together? Intermixed as a deck or an SOR deck play against an SOG deck? Or can they only be used in their separate series?
This is an ongoing CCG, so all cards can be used in deck-building as long as you following the rules/guidelines in the rules.
This game was on KS half year ago, game reviews overall is... ok. Card stock issues and very basic gameplay without player interaction. I would recommend Tamashii for cyberpunk themes.
I just recently heard about Tamashii. I'll have to investigate that one a bit more.
Interesting 🤔🤔🤔
Yeah, it's a light little cyberpunk game of contract fulfillment.
River of Gold is on BGA. I've played it a few times on there and have pre-ordered a physical copy.
I had no idea! I'm going to have to try that now.
Game designer here, thanks so much for the thoughtful and enthusiastic preview! Looking forward to showing off the game at GenCon.
Hey, thanks for stopping by! It should be an eye-catcher for everyone passing by the Thunderworks booth for sure.
Thank goodness it's colorful.
Colorful it is!
Love cyberpunk themes. Def looking at this big time.
It's light, but it's kind of cool to see a cyberpunk theme get something along the lines of a gateway+ game.
Interesting looking game!
You going to look for it at GEN CON?
@@meepleGood chance if they still have some Friday (aka payday).
Doggerland looks interesting, I haven’t seen an English playthrough of it yet though, it should be at GenCon I think.
I'll be looking for that one. I saw that it was going to be there, and didn't know anything about it.
Yeah River of Gold, fantastic Game!
I assume you played it on BGA? I didn't know it was on there.
@@meeple many times ❤
I’ve never done a kickstarter campaign but this is my first one
Really? Congratulations! But proceed cautiously into the world of crowdfunding. 😮
Cat Poker is a fun little game
That's what I've heard. I definitely want to get a hold of Panda Panda.
My Crossbows and Catapults arrived today!
Sweet! I'm hoping we get it on our doorstep prior to GEN CON.
The player boards def go to 11 in Rock Hard! Perfection!
Seriously? That's awesome!
Or there's a game that is on nobody's list that is awesome and everybody plays it at night at Gencon. So exciting :-)
Right?!
Great video. One small correction, Panda Panda will be coming out from AllPlay and not 25th Century
Thanks for that correction. I weirdly confuse those two publishers in my head frequently. 😅
I feel United is similar to The Reckoners, just with less luck. AND HE SAID THE SPLASH!
I KNOW, I KNOW! I said "Splash". 🤣😅
River of Gold map looks beautiful but too dense 😢my eyes feel dizzy 😵💫
You mean the board looks busy? Have you ever seen Bitoku by chance? Now THAT is a dizzying board.
If Play to Z is at GenCon, check out Lynx at their booth. I played (and purchased) this one at Origins. A real gem of a game that's not getting nearly enough attention right now. Highly Recommend!
Well alright! I'll look into it.
I'm excited for We're Sinking releasing at GenCon! Especially since I learned about it from you guys a year ago!
Nice! I had no idea that would be first in the wild at GEN CON!
David isn’t lying. I can vouch that he carries Nana with him at all times. We ran into each other at Origins and played multiple games!
You know it! By the way, if you haven't played NOW! You're going to want to give it a try. I just got Seer's Catalog too, but still need to try it.
@@meeple OOOOh. NOW! looks like some hilariously good times! I'll have to hunt for it at GenCon!
Great list.. Just wondering are there any games that are off the radar or that maybe good but no one is talking about?
I didn't get it played before recording this, but NOW! from Scorpion Masque (Hachette) is fantastic fun! We played it 4 times in a row our first go. This will be the little card game that I'm advocating most at the con for sure. If you see me, and want to try it, just ask. I'll have it with me.
Looot is great. It’s on BGA if people want to try it. There are some friends I play regularly with and we all liked it a lot
Thunderworks has a few games not in the World of Ulos and have more coming. I like that they are branching out more.
They always do such a solid job on all their games!
@@meeple they really do. They are one of my top companies.
Thunderworks is always on my “must buy” list!
@@markfenrick5661 They are one of a few companies that I buy from pretty much every time. I've backed there last few. I still have to get RPA at some point when it's in my budget.
wow, sirens looks so good!!
Exciting stuff. Thank you.
Yeah, it should be a pretty good GEN CON!
Metrorunner does look cool! I'm also excited about the Clank: lairs and lost Chambers expansion.
Clank! Catacombs expansion could have easily been on this list. We just had to cut it down a bit, but I'll definitely want to get a copy of that.
The hacking puzzle in MetroRunner is what hooked me on the game.
" It's SUPER Cyberpunk" - Ryan Schoon 2024
We are so excited for Looot!!
You might be a bit biased. 🤣 But we're excited too!
No music while gaming?!? Blasphemy
Yeah, I'm not really a fan. I love music, but not while doing something I want to concentrate on. I'm the same way on the disc golf course. I really don't like it when a nearby group is carrying around loud music with them. 😅
No music while gaming?!? Blasphemy
How the heck do you not have Video Game Champion on there?! :)
Ha! I'll have to try it at the show. Plus our contact at the publisher calls us out in our comments too much. 😂
@@meeple lmao
I got to play ROCK HARD: 1977 recently. Production is top notch. Rules are fairly sImple. Gameplay-wise, I'd say it's clearly on the lighter side of the spectrum. Super fun, thematic and with a lot of variability. Can't wait to play it again.
That description sounds about like what I expected. Probably won't set the world on fire for more medium to heavy gamers, but I love a euro-y game with a lot of good theme.
Board and Dice has a very smooth preorder system on their web site for Gen Con. I used it last year for Barcelona, and I have another preorder for pick up this year.
agreed. and sweet promos!
Yeah, it's super nice that publishers are doing that sort of thing more and more. Just helps cut down on all the stress of running around trying to grab games you want.
Thank you for this! Just placed my preorder for Reef 😊
Whatever happened to Chit Chat? Will that ever come back? Or a new format in similar vibe?
Chit Chat will be back for sure. We've been having a lot of people ask about it lately. We put it on hiatus at the beginning of 2024, and we hope to bring it back (better than ever) before the end of the year. We're considering an adjusted format, and some other surprises too!
