🔥 Grillblazer Su-V Gun Review 🔥 - 240K BTU Searing Flamethrower

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I've had a few viewers tell me that I need to "up my game" when it comes to searing sous vide steaks. In this video, I pull out all the stops and try out the Grillblazer Su-V gun. I'll tell you up front, I was not prepared for the power of this thing...
Is it worth the price? Watch the video and make that decision for yourself. For me, it was. Like the saying goes, "the difference between men and boys are the price of their toys".

    The look on your face was the same look my husband got last Father's Day when our son gifted him with a similar "tool"! However that tool was designed to burn out stubborn weeds, when attached to a propane tank. No pesticides required, and it amazingly prevented weeds from returning for several months. Can't wait to show my hubby this video! 😊

    The look on your face when you “applied some heat” AWESOME! Like the first time firing a gun and hitting the bullseye 😁 YEAH BABY!! How long per side do you use the SEARTEQ? Flame size matters?

  • @SeriousKeto

    @SeriousKeto

    3 жыл бұрын

    With the Searteq, I kinda have to "paint" with the flame, whereas with the Su-V, you can see that I can hit the entire steak (top and sides) with a properly aimed blast. I've never really timed myself with the Searteq, but I'd say it takes at least a minute per side, depending on the size of the steak and how much I need to hit perimeter.

I still only it outside just because that thing seems way too dangerous to use inside.

    Love my Su V Gun. I use regular propane, all you need really. Also cheap to refill your own 1 lb bottles with a 10 lb tank. Use it all the time for searing and igniting lump charcoal in my kamado. I rarely use the trigger, just the knob. As far as the check valve goes, just don't use the gun at too steep an angle and you won't have any issues. You'll get the hang of it quick. No propane taste either btw

    My husband would have freaked out with any of those inside the house! But the Su-V? He may have stroked out! 😂 I’m not a fan of “safety features” that seem to have gone way overboard, like this one. Plus, the price is out of my zone. I’m looking at the $34 one posted by Daniel Hwang, found at Harbor Freight. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks for the laughs, Steve! ❤️

    Nice video Steve. I'm familiar with this unit but I think a better option is a flame thrower from harbor Freight for about 30 buck. I've been using one for years and it works flawlessly and I keep it hooked up to a 20 pound tank at all times. Maybe they make an adapter for the Su-V gun so you can use a 20 pound propane tank. On a side note. It's funny how many people say sous vide wrong including the su-V gun company. You pronounce it correctly but the most popular sous vide channel on KZread doesn't. It's sue veed. I'm probably the only one who notices this.

    I’d kinda prefer my wife not know I did this in the house. 😉

    I have a torch gun made by another company so this might not apply but; mine has a thermo check valve to prevent it from being relit while hot (safety precaution so it doesn't explode). disconnecting the bottle manually overrides this feature (not recommended) but after waiting 20-30 minutes to cool down I've had no issues reigniting. Hope this helps.

    I don't think I could sell that purchase to the wife but it definitely looks fun.

    Great video, I enjoyed very much 😅 However, I agree with you, for me the price and the amount of propane used seems like overkill just to save a few seconds of searing a steak.thanks

    That's not a blow torch, that's a Daggon flamethrower! I while watching you light it exclaimed WOAH!

    Off topic, but in case you missed it, Alton Brown is back with Good Eats. He did two shows last night, one about bone marrow and other about cold brew coffee. As usual, very entertaining!
