    What do you think? Can you make space for this kamado in your grilling deck? If you have one, share your thoughts on it!

    Thank you for the video and your comments ! I think all the Name brand Kamado grills are basically the same , just some give you more bang for the buck . I love my Primo Kamado and would be just as happy if it was a Big Green Egg or Kamado Joe , I think the Kamado Joe comes with everything the Grilla Grill . It's all personal preference and which one you get the best deal on . They are made to last if you take care of them . I bought the Primo because I got a super good deal on it and I just needed a couple of accessories ! I bought the , Cover , Heat diffuser pizza stone , and Temperature Control kit . It came with the stand ! I seasoned it and it is ready to Smoke , Grill , Bake , Sear whatever I need to do to make fantastic meals . Funny part is , every manufacturer says theirs is the best . Just like car manufactures ! It's cool , just happy everyone is having a great time with their Kamado grills . Expensive , but worth every penny spent . Cheers , Buddy ! 🍻 P.S. : So far I'm the only one who has a Kamado in the trailer park ! All my neighbors are checking me out and keep asking me when I am going to BBQ ! 😁 They all have their own BBQ grills . I'm going to start out with a Turkey since it is almost Thanksgiving . Maybe share a little bit ! Take care and happy grilling !

    Thanks for the response! Listen I have had them all! Big geeen egg, primo, KJ, char-griller, and now the Kong. The Kong is by far the biggest, but you’re right, they are basically all the same. If you take care of it, it will last a long time. Cheers buddy!

    Can you cook a brisket in that small a space? How long will a combo of charcoal and wood last?

    @Blackdog4818 absolutely you can. At a low and slow temp, I’ve kept my grill going straight for 12 hours. But you need to be careful and make sure you have it dialed in.

    I have an OG Grilla Grill pellet grill (the round one), just used it all day today. I was looking at Kamados for the last month. Like you say, its definitely a great value. The size of the Grilla (20") sits right between the Kamado Joe Classic (18") and the Big Joe (24"). But in the end I ended up spending twice as much on a Kamado Joe Classic III and one of the biggest reasons is the available accessories. Grilla just doesn't have much. And the in-between size makes it too hard to use accessories from other companies. I really wanted a rottiserie. And their 3 tier divide and conquer system along with the new slo-roller is pretty nice. And I would have been ok without it but that airlift hinge makes opening and closing as easy as my weber gas grill. The joetisserie and cover were thrown in for free, along with free shipping so that sealed the deal. Would have liked to stay in the Grilla family, especially for that extra 2" of space (the Big Joe just seemed too big for where I'm putting it), but oh well. Still have my OG for now.

    I loved my KJ’s. I believe they are just amazing cookers and I miss mine often. However, most all Kamados cook the same and this one would be no difference. I’ve wanted a kong for years. But I get it, more accessories. I had the rotisserie and I used it about 5 times total. The divide and conquer is really what sets KJ apart. However I have two layers to cook on, I’m good. For everything that came with mine, I’m excited to have it on the deck. I’m going to cook some beef cheeks on it soon.

    Really cool video man. I’m just looking to get into smoking/ grilling now that I have the deck space. As a total beginner what you recommend starting with? My local hardware store is selling the pit boss pro series pellet grill with the Bluetooth app and the meat probes etc. what would be a better starting piece? Something like a komado or something more hi tech like the pit boss pro? I want to use it for grilling and smoking. I have a buddy who got the traeger pellet grill, and he’s not much of a cook but his smoker does most of the work for him and it turns out pretty good I think.

    Great question. Honestly pit boss makes a great product. A Kamado is a LITTLE more versatile than a pellet and that’s because the Kamado can do low and slow or hot and fast. The differences are technology and time to start the grill. Both require maintenance. The Kamado is a little steeper learning curve also. I learned on the chargriller akorn and swore off pellet grills but I have both on the deck now! Pellet systems are great entry into the BBQ space. Most people don’t complain they got a grill, but does it have enough room. If you’re leaning towards the pitboss I’d go that direction. But, to me, the Kamado is more bang for your buck in the end. Let me know what you decide!

    @GrillMarkCo do you like the Kong better than the akorn? And what is better about the Kong in terms of how the food tastes? Thank for the great videos!

  • @GrillMarkCo

    @dennisfliegel7588 thanks! Yes. The kong is 1000x better than the akorn. It’s going to hold temp longer, not so many temp swings, and an all around better investment. Honestly food will taste the same. They work essentially the same but the kong is more stable. grillagrills.pxf.io/5ggnJj use this link to order one if you’re thinking about it.

    I just spent the weekend cutting up an old ash tree, I'd like to use that wood with a Grill but I'd need a small one. I'd like to cook brisket, but I understand it can take 7-9 hours. Will this grill keep a fire going for that long? Is it difficult to add wood?

  • @GrillMarkCo

    @GrillMarkCo

    So, you should be using charcoal to cook on these. These grills are extremely efficient. Use lump charcoal. You can use chunks of the ash to produce more smoke if needed. However, yes this grill can smoke for 12-15 hours on a full load.

    Make sure the ash is dried out and seasoned and not still green or wet. It will add bad smoke if it’s wet.
