Grill the Perfect Prime Rib with Z Grills: A Step-by-Step Guide

INGREDIENTS👇

6 LB Boneless prime rib
Kosher Salt for an overnight brine 12-15 hours
Garlic Herb butter
1 stick salted butter(melted)
4-6 garlic cloves chopped
1 tsp fresh thyme(chopped)
1 tsp fresh rosemary(chopped)
1 tsp black pepper
Add to butter mixture to coat the room temperature prime rib
Coat the prime rib right before adding to the grill.

THE RECIPE👇
1. Salt brine the prime rib over night for 12-15 hours
2. Remove and allow to come up to room temperature for 1 hour.
3. Preheat the Z for 225f
4. Add prime rib to wire type rack
5. Coat the prime rib herb mixture on all sides but the bottom.
6. Smoke @225f for up to 2 hours or until an internal temperature of 105-110f is reached.
7. Remove to rest.
8. Turn your Z up to full.
9. After 400f+ is reached add back your prime rib for some color. Grill till your desired temperature is reached.

Grill on high heat (400-450°F) until desired internal temperature is reached
Rest for 15 minutes before serving
Total cook time: 2 hours and 5 minutes

    Why not use the smoke setting for the first bit and then bump it up a little? More time in the smoke and then watch you temps as you up the temp. Been doing that a lot to add a little more smoke to things if you want that.
