Oh yeah? Buddy had his own band and his own gigs? Where's Greyson's band and said projects that he's leading like Buddy? You anoint a person before they've done anything meaningful. If Buddy were around to hear that a kid who won't ever get closer to where he was when he was around, is be compared to him... boooyyy he would let us hear it. one of the coolest things to me about this solo is that at 4:42 he accidentally clicks his sticks together. You can see him kind of stop and think about it for a moment and then he decides to work the stick clicks into the solo. That kind of fast thinking can't be taught!

I've been a drummer for 55 years, and Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa always rolled off my tongue when talking about the greatest. There's a new kid in town, and he's number one. Greyson! God has gifted you, kid. Be safe in your travels so we can enjoy you for years to come. I wish people realized how many hours if dedicated practice and suffering it took to gain your talent. Jaw dropping!!!!!

Finally he's getting his deserved recognition. Been following him for about a year on insta now and just waited for some big drum channel to cover this amazing talent.

What makes this *so* much more impressive that the covers I've seen before from the whiplash version is that Nekrutman literally played this in his own style, showing that playing preexisting drumbeats isn't all he can do.

I just found out he is now the new drummer for Suicidal Tendencies! His drumming is wild and it will be interesting to see it put to use for Thrash Metal/Punk group like Suicidal Tendencies. Jazz and Thrash Metal are my two favourite genres.

I'm old enough to have seen Krupa, Rich, Morello, and Bellson live. This kid is right up there. What he will do when he's in his 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s is really something to look forward to (I only wish I was going to still be around then to hear him!). Wow, what a prodigy! I could watch just his left hand technique for hours. Seems to be quite level-headed and mature, too, which is really nice to see.

This guy is 100% in his element. His understanding of the instrument is so fluent that little things like that come second nature to him, even in the middle of such a stellar performance and exhausting piece

Besides from the absolutely insane drumming, those drums sound INCREDIBLE! Great job from audio engineers and drum tech.

His drumming is a straight up blessing. The focus and the talent and practice, he will be the best in no time!

I love how he incorporated these unintentional stick clicks into a part of the solo. What is also great about him is not only his technique, cool cat attitude and big band era heritage, but the fact he is also a versatile drummer, not “just a jazz guy”

I'm a fan now. Never heard of Greyson Nekrutman but he's definitely someone I will look forward to hearing more of his music. Such a great talent!!

I like the fact that Greyson changes grips, from matched to trad and vice versa. His technical and improvisational ability is just mind-blowing. He's the new Buddy Rich, no doubt about it. He's brought big band drumming back to life, and it sounds better than ever. He's already a legend, at the age of 19. Wow.

This young man is, in my opinion, the purest example of the combination of dedication, obstinacy, study and talent. I've been following him on Instagram for a few years and I've seen part of his evolution. I wish the best for this Boy. As someone well said: Finesse!

I love how in his reaction video to the movie he points out so many times that the drummer in the movie is tight and makes crazy faces and exerts so much energy to play something but he does the same thing here

As a drummer I sometimes get remarks about weird mouth movements while playing, but this proves to me that it is not weird at all! (Epic performance, by the way!!)

If you watch again it’s actually a disguised transition for from matched grip to standard grip. No accidental stuff from Greyson.

Definitely an accident extracted into a prominent few measures. I don't like the cover up. It seems to show an insecurity in the pursuit of perfection. You need to let it be and continue your train of thought.

Remember..he’s just 19..🥺 So many of today’s good drummers are fairly similar to each other… Greyson is a real throwback, to the top drummers in the big band era..

Which is good because in the movie Whiplash, that's the goal of the conductor. To revive the old era of drummers and create a new legend.

Very simple: there are many incredible drummers out there today, and there is Greyson…. This guy is from another planet….. maximum musicality and maximum virtuosity….. god bless you Greyson and thank you for your incredible contribution for a better world !!!

I find it astounding that someone actually wrote this drum piece.

Finally!!!! Well Greyson's been around for a couple of years, been following him for a while, but finally we are able to hear great drumming and chops that are not the usual ghospel chops!! Just amazing to hear!!

I don’t recall ever having a drum solo increase my heart rate but this guy was just over the top intense. My mind is blown. Just unbelievable. You have found & mastered what you were put on this earth to do & I thank you for sharing with us.

My hands are cramping up watching Greyson play. Amazing.

That is absolutely incredible!! What an amazing talent!!! Incredible hard work and practice have made you an amazing drummer.

@@xwolfofficial4244 That'S just an old styley big band jazz drum solo, right up his alley. I'm waiting for something that has his handwriting. Like you know a Dave Weckl solo when you close your eyes and listen to it. Something like that.

@@rarecromALT That's true. Which is why I don't get the hype. I mean if soneone plays guitar like Clapton (only less refined), people don't freak out like that, unless a) he's a youngster or b) has a powerful company backing him and driving the hype train. Which is exactly what is happening with Nekrutman. He does what he does best. Nothing more nothing less. I really wonder how he would fare at a sitting in situation where it's not about machine gunning through big band rudiments.

This kid's technique is mind blowing. Super cool to see. Already a master drummer. I really can't believe those little details and how he's able to stay on the groove. I listen to a ton of metal and this style of "heavy jazz" is really cool and busy to me. I still have so much to learn obviously.

I've watched this 5 times in a row, magnificent!

That was possibly the most impressive display of drumming I've ever seen. My heart was racing while my brain tried to keep up with every note and every little hand technique. Not to mention the unmatched energy and creativity.

"Massive drum solo"?! I would say: INSANELY KILLER drum solo! What Greyson did around 7:30 was SO INSANE!

The dedication and talent this guy has is unreal

This is cute, but the question we all need to ask Greyson, “Were you rushing, or dragging?”😂 What a drummer. This guys is already a legend and he’s barely getting started 👏🏼

One of the greatest drummers I've ever seen in my life. And I've seen a lot... God damn... great great drummer, great technique, great sound, great spirit and great feel. Amazing.

"An amazing drum performance" isn't enough to describe this presentation! And this bass drum sound, omg!

i saw this man at the sepultura concert, he's a absolute drum monster

My face, mind, body, and spirit all just melted during this video....

At 10:50 he goes in to such a flow state of performing that you can actually feel the natural language he is expressing through this instrumental extension of himself.. remarkable performance demonstrating one of the highest proficiencies..

So much excitement. Since the pandemic, there's a scary phenomenon where club houses, venues, event organizers think less important of drum acoustic. Even sound engineers I talked to that bringing full drum-sets to a gig is unnecessary and just too much hassle. They offers digital drum instead. Yes can you imagine playing rock song on a digital drum set (unless you are AYEON) no excitement. Thank God Nekrutman exist, he brought that joy back again to drumming

I hope this phenomenon only temporary, unlike in early 2000 when Stylus came out (now Stylus RMX) no one hired a percussion player for recording anymore. I feel bad for percussion players since then.

I actually got emotional seeing his passion, his energy, his delivery! This reminded me why I love this instrument!

That was amazing, I really enjoy listening to you play.🥁
